Killing Off Chance Chancellor Kills off Y&R Fans

It’s no secret across social media that Young & the Restless fans fast-forward buttons are getting worn out. However, CBS has not received the memo. The last thing Y&R fans needed was for a legacy character to be killed off. If something doesn’t change soon, Young & the Restless fans will no longer need their power button, let alone fast-forward.

Bringing Back Cane Ashby to Lose Chance, BAD Choice!

Young & the Restless fans need to talk to whoever at CBS signed off on recasting the role of Cane Ashby in exchange for killing off Chance Chancellor. Cane Ashby is hardly a loyal Y&R fan favorite. Nothing against Billy Flynn personally, but bringing him onto Young & the Restless recast as the former Australian, older man, & Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) shady ex-husband is one of the worst moves in daytime television ever. Can we say “Square Peg, Round Hole?”

If there was going to be a recast, it should have been replacing Connor Floyd as Chance Chancellor to keep this legacy character on this soap opera. Nothing personal against Connor Floyd at all. He did a wonderful job playing Chance Chancellor, but the character did not need to be killed off.

GCPD: The Make Believe Police Department in GC

So, if the Genoa City Police Department doesn’t exist on Young & the Restless, there’s no need for a detective or police officers, right? WRONG!! This is a freaking soap opera. People do bad things & they need to at least sometimes be held accountable.

At this point, who will want to be a detective in Genoa City? Detective Paul Williams (Doug Davis) wasn’t killed off, but he’s pretty much never to be seen again in Genoa City by Young & the Restless fans. Detective Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) was killed off. Now, Detective Chance Chancellor has been killed by Cane Ashby’s punk assistant, Carter.

Chance Chancellor wasn’t a great detective, but he had a place in Genoa City & on Young & the Restless as a legacy character. Who’s going to sort of protect Genoa City residents now?

So, Nina Webster No Longer Has a Point…

Except for The Bug/Cricket/Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell). Cricket just accepted Danny Romallotti’s (Michael Damian) marriage proposal, but wedding plans have not been made. Typically, when Cricket bounces back to Genoa City, Nina Webster (Trisha Cast) isn’t far behind.

So, will Nina get a 2-for-1 high & low?… A funeral for her only son & her BFF getting married? Will Nina still have ties to Chance’s legal but not biological son, Dominic Abbott Newman Chancellor Winters?

Before we know it, The Bug & Rockstar Danny will be back on tour. Devon Hamilton now Winters (Bryton James) will double down on his full-court press of being Dom’s daddy. Nina Webster will become even more pointless than she was before, but will be left to revisit Genoa City like Chance Chancellor should have been on Young & the Restless
