Grandma Nikki Is Already Sniffing Around

The cracks have been showing for a week. On September 16, Victoria went straight from Kyle’s arms to the Tack House, lied to Claire about working late, and passed off one of his texts as a message from her assistant. Then on Monday, September 21, Nikki Newman caught Victoria flushed and hiding her phone, and she did not buy the brush-off.

Nikki has no idea the man on the other end is Kyle. Not yet, anyway. We broke down how the Jordan scare and Nikki’s suspicions collided this week, and every beat since has tightened the noose around this affair.

Then there is Nick Newman. On Tuesday he ran into Kyle at Crimson Lights, chatted about the Vibrante relaunch, and said he was sure his sister would never give Kyle the time of day. Kyle kept a straight face. We would pay good money to know what was running through his head.

Does Claire Newman Walk In on Victoria and Kyle on Young and the Restless?

Not in any confirmed spoiler so far. The walk-in is a fan prediction, and nothing released through early October shows Claire Newman, or anyone else, catching Victoria and Kyle together. What the show has done is plant three Newmans around this affair in just two episodes: Nikki on Monday, then Claire and Nick on Tuesday. That kind of setup rarely happens by accident.

Why Claire? Because her Jordan scare handed the writers a loaded gun. Claire Newman just told her mother she fears her old darkness creeping back, and nothing would wake it up faster than finding her mom in bed with her ex. Hayley Erin has played Claire’s fragile side beautifully this fall, and a discovery would hand her the juiciest material of her run.

The Fallout Would Hit Every Newman and Abbott in Town

If I know these writers, nobody walks away clean. Victoria loves playing the steady Newman, the one who keeps the family business and the family itself on track. Getting caught with her daughter’s ex would torch that image with Claire Newman and with the rest of her kids, too.

Kyle has even more to lose. Victor Newman warned Victoria at the end of August to keep her distance from him, and Kyle happens to be the nephew of her ex-husband, Billy Abbott. Picture that family dinner. Don’t be surprised if Victor treats this affair as a fresh act of war against the Abbotts.

And then there is Nikki, who has been circling since Monday and knows that flushed look when she sees it. My gut tells me Grandma gets the first real clue, even if Claire gets the front-row seat. Either way, Victoria’s secret is running on borrowed time.
