Genoa City Is Wasting a Perfectly Good Detective
Detective Burrow has been in Genoa City for a year, and the man hasn’t had a single date. He showed up investigating the hit-and-run that nearly killed Sharon Newman‘s son in Los Angeles. He came back to help Abby Winters and Devon Winters track down their missing son.
Last month he was making phone calls to the Abbotts. That’s a lot of police work for a man this good looking.
Soaps don’t keep a handsome single guy on the canvas so he can file paperwork. The show already made it official that Burrow is staying in town. So why is the most eligible man in Genoa City spending his nights at the precinct?
Fans have been asking that question for months. Somebody needs to hand this detective a love interest before he becomes the town’s best-dressed piece of furniture.

Suspect Number One: Sharon, the Safe Bet
Sharon is single, and Burrow met her at the worst moment of her life, standing beside her son’s hospital bed. That kind of first meeting builds trust fast. Sharon has a soft spot for men who show up when things fall apart. A detective who already knows the family’s secrets would save a lot of awkward first-date conversations.
There’s one big complication. Her ex, Nick Newman, recently beat his old dealer unconscious, and nobody has seen the man since. That case is already on Burrow’s desk.
He’s been questioning Nick and the Newman family about it, which means he’s investigating the ex-husband of the woman he might fall for. Could Sharon really date the cop who might arrest Nick?
Suspect Number Two: Audra, the Wild Card
Audra Charles is also single, and she has never been shy about getting around Genoa City. She knows what she wants, she goes after it, and she doesn’t apologize afterward.
A by-the-book detective might be exactly the challenge she’s been missing. Audra has worked her way through boardrooms and bedrooms alike, and a detective would be a new line on her résumé.
Here’s the messy part. Audra used to date Sharon’s son, the same young man whose accident Burrow investigated. Imagine Burrow picking between the mother and the ex. Thanksgiving dinner would need its own police report.
Suspect Number Three: Abby, Who Needs a Wake-Up Call
Abby Winters and Devon Winters have one of the sleepiest marriages in daytime. They love each other, they love their son, and nothing ever happens. Fans have watched paint dry with more suspense.
Burrow already helped the couple find their son, and gratitude is a powerful thing on a soap. Grateful women on soaps have a habit of looking at their rescuers a little too long. Would she risk her marriage for the detective who brought her family back together? Devon might finally get a storyline out of it, and a little temptation could be the best thing that ever happened to that marriage.

Whether it’s Sharon, Audra, or a married woman with a boring husband, Detective Burrow needs a romance before fans forget why he’s on the show. Matt Cohen has the charm for it. The writers need to give him a reason to stay out past midnight.
Detective Burrow is overdue for some trouble that doesn’t come with a case number. Genoa City has plenty of women ready to supply it.
