Devon Winters Walks Into the Clinic for Vengeance and Mariah Hands Him a Mirror

Devon Winters is pacing the visitor’s lounge of the mental clinic on Tuesday and the air is so thick you could cut it with a butter knife. Mariah Copeland walks in. She admits she is SURPRISED he came, like the woman who kidnapped his child has been waiting for an RSVP. They sit. He hands her an envelope like he is serving a subpoena. The card is from Dominic. Dominic, the child she STOLE, has drawn her an ice cream sundae and hopes she gets better soon. The AUDACITY of using a four-year-old’s crayon skills as the icebreaker for the most uncomfortable hour of Devon’s life this week. Mariah’s eyes well up. Devon’s eyes do not.

He tells her flat out. He wants her to SUFFER. Everyone in his orbit has told him to forgive her. He will not. His son keeps asking to see her, which is the most quietly horrifying sentence Devon Winters has uttered all year. Mariah, who has clearly been doing the work in there, hands him the whole speech. She lost touch with reality. Dom was a beacon she thought would lead her out. Ian Ward has finally evaporated from her brain. The rational half of her mind knew the entire time what she was doing was wrong. Devon catches it like a baseball. SHE KNEW. He says it out loud. She does not flinch.

Then Mariah pivots. She tells Devon Winters what he really needs is to forgive HIMSELF, not her. Reader. READER. The woman who kidnapped a literal child has walked Devon Winters into a therapy session with HIS NAME on the door and his guilt on the bill. Camryn Grimes and Bryton James, hand them every award currently in inventory. Y&R writers, who hurt YOU. Devon came for the closing speech in a courtroom drama and left with a Pinterest quote tattooed on his soul.

Did Mariah actually have a point? Should Devon forgive himself first? Send us your hottest Devon Winters therapy theories to [email protected] and we might publish them on the site!

Phyllis Tells Sharon She’s a HERO at Crimson Lights

At Crimson Lights, Phyllis Summers tells Sharon Newman she has had enough of her lectures to last a lifetime. The Newmans, by Phyllis’s calculation, should be sending her a fruit basket. Possibly two. She is the woman GOING TO BE responsible for getting Matt locked up forever and that makes her a HERO. Reader, Phyllis Summers has gone full Main Character Syndrome at the espresso machine and there is no walking it back. Bring popcorn.

Sharon, who has the patience of a saint who has filed a complaint with the Vatican, demands to know where Matt is hiding. Phyllis laughs in her face like it is open mic night. Sharon asks if she wants Noah’s potential death on her hands. Phyllis insists she can handle this. Sharon tells her she has officially turned into a control freak since they left the clinic. Phyllis says everything will be fine if the Newmans would simply work with her. Sir. SIR. The level of self-mythologizing. Phyllis is going to give a TED Talk in the season finale and we will watch every minute.

Christine Tells Nick She Needs More Than His Word at the GCAC

Over at the GCAC, Christine Blair asks Nick Newman point blank if Phyllis has Matt. Nick says he wants this resolved. Bring Matt to justice. Leave Phyllis alone. Christine, who has been doing this job since the Reagan administration, says that sounds EXACTLY like a Phyllis suggestion someone slid across the table to him after two drinks. She is not discussing one charge until he proves he has access to Matt. Nick storms off in a fentanyl-adjacent haze. Daniel Romalotti wanders in.

Daniel asks about his dad. Christine says Michael flew out this morning, which is a sentence that sounds normal and is in fact terrifying. Daniel admits he is on edge about his mother. He floats the idea that if Mom returns Newman, maybe Christine will go soft. Christine looks at him like a tired aunt at a funeral and says no. Then Phyllis walks in. “Look who it is! The witchfinder general!” she TRILLS. Reader. “Witchfinder general.” We are deceased. Daniel begs the two of them to compromise. Phyllis declares Christine will lose. Daniel sandwiched between his mother and the DA he respects is the saddest piece of dramatic real estate in Genoa City this Tuesday.

Phyllis Walks In on Patty in Matt’s Suite and Tells Him the Truth He Did Not Order

Phyllis swings by Matt’s GCAC suite to find Patty Williams already sitting on the bed. Of COURSE she is. The two of them immediately accuse each other of being jealous because that is the Y&R dialogue tree when two women are in the same square footage and a memory-impaired man is involved. Patty announces she has set Matt Clark STRAIGHT about Phyllis using him. Matt tries to play referee. The man has a lot on his plate. He has TWO obsessed women fighting over his amnesia at the foot of his hotel bed at noon on a Tuesday. He is doing his best.

Patty slinks out with a teasing offer of drinks later. Phyllis is APOPLECTIC that Matt called Patty using the burner phone she literally handed him. Then Phyllis does the thing she has been dodging all week. She tells Matt who he is. He has tried to kill the Newmans. He has committed assault and rape. Matt refuses to believe a syllable of it. He says if he was that horrible, Phyllis would be afraid of him. He says he wants to leave town. Phyllis says she cannot ALLOW that. The mask is off. The hostage situation is officially a hostage situation. The writers fed us, slathered us in gravy, and tucked us in for the night.

Nick Scarfs Fentanyl in the Corner and Promises Sharon He Is Sober

Nick stumbles into Crimson Lights, pops some fentanyl in the corner like a child sneaking gummies before dinner, and joins Sharon and Noah Newman at a table. They wonder out loud where Phyllis could possibly be hiding Matt. Nick assures them everything will be resolved soon. He tells them he has cut a side deal with Phyllis BEHIND Victor Newman‘s back. The Matt situation is life and death. Newman is, by comparison, a corporate hobby.

Sharon worries they may never see the company again. Nick is willing to throw it in the bin. Sharon, who has lived through enough of Nick’s eras to spot a bit when she sees one, says something seems off about this NEW Nick. She asks him to promise her he will not take matters into his own hands. “Yeah, I promise,” he replies, while two fentanyl pills do laps in his bloodstream. Sharon is going to be the one who finds him on a floor and we are calling it now so the show cannot say we did not warn them.

Whose Tuesday move has you screaming? Devon getting handed a therapy assignment by the woman who kidnapped his son? Phyllis declaring herself a HERO out loud at Crimson Lights? Or Nick promising sobriety while two pills do laps in his bloodstream? Sound off because we need to talk!
