Diane Has a Plan and That’s Terrifying
Listen, I need someone to sit Diane Jenkins down and explain to her exactly who she’s dealing with here. On Thursday’s episode of The Young and the Restless, Diane got a notification on her phone, grinned like the Cheshire cat, and announced she’s figured out another way to stop Victor. She claims she’s set up traps for The Mustache to spring, and that his use of stolen AI software against Cane is illegal and will send him straight to jail.
There’s just one tiny problem: she has absolutely NO proof.
Diane Jenkins admitted this herself! She says she knows where they can find evidence, but knowing where to look and actually obtaining admissible evidence against Victor Newman are two WILDLY different things. This is the same man who has escaped murder charges, been presumed dead multiple times, and orchestrated corporate takeovers that would make Wall Street blush. And Diane thinks she’s going to outsmart him with some traps?

The Abbotts Are Desperate and It Shows
The Abbott family is in full crisis mode right now. Jack came storming into the mansion angry as hell after confronting Adam and Chelsea about their role in Victor’s media attack on Jabot. Billy just offered Phyllis a blank check to steal the AI software back from Victor. Kyle is leaving voicemails for Summer trying to rally the troops. They’re throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks.
And in the middle of all this chaos, Diane Jenkins pipes up with her trap scheme like she’s playing 4D chess against a man who invented the game.
Here’s what concerns me: Diane has a history of schemes that blow up in spectacular fashion. This is the woman who faked her own death and let everyone grieve for YEARS. Her track record with elaborate plans is not exactly stellar. And now she’s going up against The Great Victor Newman, a man whose entire existence is built on crushing his enemies and looking fabulous while doing it.
Victor Newman Does Not Lose
Let’s be real about something. Victor has been playing this game since before Diane even set foot in Genoa City. The Mustache has survived everything from attempted murders to hostile takeovers to his own children betraying him. He always comes out on top because he’s always three steps ahead of everyone else.
Victor used stolen AI software to attack Cane’s company and then turned it against Jabot. He’s got Adam and Chelsea doing his bidding at Newman Media, destroying Jack’s reputation in the press. Nikki admitted she may never forgive him for destroying Jabot, but that hasn’t slowed him down one bit. The man is on a rampage and he’s not stopping until the Abbott empire is in ashes.
So Diane thinks some traps are going to take him down? Please. Victor probably already knows about her little scheme. He’s probably got counter-traps set up for her traps. He’s probably sitting in his office at Newman Enterprises right now, swirling brandy and chuckling about how adorable it is that Jacky-Boy’s wife thinks she can touch him.
This Is Going to End Badly for Everyone
My prediction? Diane’s plan is going to backfire so spectacularly that it makes things WORSE for the Abbotts. She’s going to tip Victor off, give him ammunition to use against them, or somehow implicate Jack in something illegal while trying to prove Victor’s crimes. That’s just how these things work on Y&R.
The Abbotts are betting their future on Phyllis stealing software, Kyle manipulating family connections, and Diane Jenkins setting traps for the most dangerous man in Genoa City. This is not a strategy. This is a prayer.
Victor Newman is coming for them, and I genuinely don’t think any of them are ready for what happens next.
