Where Was Kyle Abbott When Mariah Copeland Needed a Friend on Y&R?
Kyle Abbott hasn’t checked on struggling Mariah Copeland once. Their Y&R friendship has vanished, proving Kyle only cares about himself.

Where Is This Friendship?
Mariah Copeland is STILL away from Genoa City, getting help for almost killing a man resembling Ian Ward… STILL. Also still missing from Genoa City, Mariah’s friendship with Kyle Abbott. Once upon a time, these 2 were BFF. Now Mariah is in trouble, and her marriage is falling apart because of it, and Kyle has just broken up with the latest love of his life.
Why aren’t Mariah and Kyle in touch on The Young and the Restless?
Mariah and Kyle’s Friendship Is MIA
Seriously, where the hell is this thing? Historically, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) have been BFF. They’ve been there for one another, mostly. Kyle has been and continues to be an entitled idiot man-child, so their friendship hasn’t always been perfect. He did manage to follow through and marry her and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), however.
Yet still, the good old days of Mariah calling Kyle’s on-and-off wife, Summer Newman (Hunter King, Allison Lanier), Snowflake are long gone. Mariah barely even knows that Snowflake was briefly replaced by Harrison’s (Redding Munsell) brief nanny, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin).

Mariah and Tessa Liked the Nanny, So What?
So, it would be natural for Mariah and Kyle to be in touch about Claire, whether it be her nanny responsibilities or his relationship with her. Also, it would be natural for Tessa to be friends with Kyle. Sure, Mariah and Tessa respecting one another’s confidence in their marriage is totally respectful, but responsibly confiding in a trusted friend when a mutual friend is breaking down can also be respectful.
Why wasn’t Kyle confiding in Mariah about his relationship with Claire? Why didn’t Mariah let Kyle know about what she’s going through, even with minimal details? Regardless, since Mariah has been away in Boston, why hasn’t Kyle noticed and asked Tessa about where she is and how she is doing?
Not Breaking News: Kyle Cares About Kyle Only
Kyle Abbott isn’t even a good dad. He depends on his parents and Mrs. Martinez to take impromptu care of little Harrison on demand 24/7/365. Obviously, he still lives inside the Abbott Estate because of this. He’s the biggest slack parent in town. Turns out he’s also the biggest slack BFF in town.
This isn’t the first time Mariah has been in trouble, and Kyle didn’t care. When Mariah was carrying Abby Winters’ baby, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) at the time, she was kidnapped by Abby’s ex-husband, Stitch Rayburn (Sean Carrigan). Kyle didn’t ask about her and had nothing to do with rescuing her.
If Kyle even attempts to care about Mariah when she does return to Genoa City, he shall be damned by all who actually do care about her and love her, including loyal Young and the Restless fans.
