KYLE ABBOTT IS THE ONLY PERSON IN GENOA CITY WHOSE BOTH PARENTS HAVE BEEN KIDNAPPED, AND DETECTIVE BURROWS IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND

TL;DR: Jack Abbott was kidnapped on a yacht. Now Diane Jenkins is being held by Dr. McCreepy in a mystery location where she is somehow freshly showered and completely trapped on The Young and the Restless. Detective Burrows has not been seen since Jack stopped calling him. Patty Williams is living in the Abbott house. And Kyle Abbott is at the GCAC trying to hold everything together while the show pretends this storyline is making sense. It is not.

Let Us Talk About Kyle Abbott’s Parents

Kyle Abbott has had a rough run of it lately, and we are not talking about his professional decisions or his history with married women. We are talking about the fact that both of his parents have now been kidnapped in Genoa City and nobody seems to think that is as extraordinary as it is.

Jack Abbott was kidnapped on a yacht. It was a whole thing. Jack survived, came home, made a series of increasingly questionable decisions, and then his wife disappeared.

Diane Jenkins was picked up on the side of the road by Dr. Laurence Markham, the man we are calling Dr. McCreepy, Patty Williams’ accomplice doctor who apparently runs the most luxurious involuntary hospitality operation in the history of this show.

Diane is still there. She has been showered. She has fresh clothes. She cannot leave.

Two parents. Two kidnappings. One Kyle standing at the GCAC trying to figure out why his family keeps ending up in other people’s houses against their will.

Has Anyone Seen Detective Burrows

Here is the part of this storyline that is making us genuinely unhinged. Jack called in Detective Burrows to investigate Diane’s disappearance, gave him information, then learned more.

Jack did not call Detective Burrows back. He did not update the detective working his wife’s case. He decided instead to move Patty Williams into the Abbott house and plan a DIY rescue with Billy Abbott.

Detective Burrows is somewhere in Genoa City right now sitting on whatever Jack gave him in that first meeting, with no new leads, no update, and no idea the man who called him in has decided to handle this himself.

We are issuing the Amber Alert now. Not for Diane. For Detective Burrows.

Has anyone seen this man? Is he still in Genoa City? Does he know he is still technically on a case? Does Jack know what a detective is for?

Dr. McCreepy Is Running the Wrong Kind of Practice

Let us talk about Dr. Laurence Markham, who we are calling Dr. McCreepy because that is what he is. This is a man with a medical degree using it to hold Diane Jenkins against her will, while providing fresh clothes, toiletries, and a shower.

We already wrote about this, and it has not improved. Dr. McCreepy is still operating his involuntary bed and breakfast.

And Jack is out here planning a rescue that involves luring Dr. McCreepy away from his house because apparently calling the detective he already hired was not on the agenda.

Jack had a plan. The plan involved Billy. The plan did not involve the law enforcement professional already on this case. We have questions about Jack’s decision making process, and those questions do not have satisfying answers.

Genoa City Needs to Do Better for Him

Kyle moved to the GCAC because Patty Williams is living in his family home. His mother is being held by Dr. McCreepy in a location nobody has fully pinpointed yet. His father is planning a rescue operation that involves no police, no Detective Burrows, and apparently no common sense. His son Harrison is upstairs eating room service pancakes for dinner.

This is the life Kyle Abbott is currently living on The Young and the Restless, and none of it is his fault. He did not ask for parents who keep getting kidnapped. He did not ask for Patty Williams to move into his house. He did not ask to be the only functional adult in a storyline that has lost the plot so thoroughly that Detective Burrows has forgotten he is on a case.

We are siding with Kyle. We are siding with Detective Burrows wherever he is. We are not siding with this storyline, and we will not be taking questions.

Is this the most frustrating Abbott storyline in recent memory, or do you think the payoff is going to be worth it? Sound off below because this comment section needs to let it out!
