Malcolm Winters Flew Home to Thank Cane and Drop a Warning About Lily in One Breath

Malcolm Winters walked into Society fresh off a hospital discharge and a transcontinental flight to thank Cane AshbyIN PERSON for saving his life. He had unresolved issues to handle in town. Cane played it down. He was happy to help. Malcolm assumed it was also a gesture to Lily Winters. Cane admitted it. He also said he wanted Malcolm to have a chance and that he wished he could have done something like this for his OWN father. Reader, Cane Ashby talked about his late father in a Y&R restaurant and we got dust in our eyes.

Malcolm thanked him for giving him his life back. They shook HANDS. Then Malcolm asked where things stand between Cane and Lily. Cane admitted he wants more but Lily is not interested. “Good,” said Malcolm. He said he will not intervene either way. But if Cane HURTS Lily, Malcolm Winters will deal with him personally. Reader. Across town at the Chancellor Park Café, Holden Novak was sitting with his mother Stephanie when she dropped the news. The hospital BOARD had offered her the Chief of Staff position. Claire Newman was introduced to Malcolm and took off. Holden’s parents teased him about her. Malcolm thanked them ALL again. Then Stephanie left and the two MEN tried to get to know each other by joking about BASEBALL. Malcolm admitted they will not get to know each other in one day. They have TIME now. Cane Accepted the Chancellor Job and Promised Lily He Would Never Hurt Her Again

After Malcolm left Society, Cane RECAPPED their conversation for Lily. He promised her he will NEVER hurt her again. She smiled. They got a table. They talked about a vampire show Cane used to watch. Lily teased him for having too much TIME on his hands and asked again if he would take the Chancellor offer.

Cane admitted he had planned a DIFFERENT kind of comeback. They have changed. Lily asked about his LEGAL situation. He said it was handled. All charges have been DROPPED. Lily was incredulous. Victor dropped it that EASILY? Cane confirmed. Lily teased him about what his original plan had been. He told her to drop it. He is “honest Cane” now. He is ALL IN on running Chancellor for her. Holden and Claire Made a Plan to Go to the Shadow Room Earlier at the Café

Earlier at the Chancellor Park Café, Holden and Claire ran into each other. Claire was impressed Holden was wearing the JACKET she gave him. He LOVES it. Claire then asked if it would be weird for him to go to the SHADOW ROOM opening given how much he has not wanted to discuss the LA original. Holden claimed he had not thought about it. He likes how close he and Claire are and does NOT want to jeopardize it.

Claire said she does not want that either, but she knows the LA Shadow Room has painful MEMORIES for him. Holden admitted he had enjoyed showing Claire around the city like a TOURIST and seeing the world through her eyes. Reader. THROUGH HER EYES. Victor Offered Matt a Deal at the Newman Ranch That Sounds an Awful Lot Like a Setup

Back at the Newman Ranch, Matt Clark asked Victor Newman what he could do to prove himself. Victor wanted Matt to LIVE at the ranch in the ranch hand apartment. He wanted Matt to befriend Cane, infiltrate his business, and REPORT BACK so Victor could finally CRUSH him. Reader, the Mustache spent four episodes preaching mercy and immediately weaponized it. Matt was LAUGHING. He said this sounds like returning to the man everyone hates. He refused. Nick Newman agreed with Matt and DID NOT want him to slide back. Victor said it was prison or the deal. Matt agonized. He told Victor he is afraid he will lose his soul if he signs on. Victor BARKED for an answer. “Fine, yeah, great. Let’s do it,” Matt grumbled.
