DOMINIC IS FOUND AND MARIAH COPELAND IS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON WEDNESDAY’S Y&R

TL;DR: The chase is over on The Young and the Restless. Sharon, Devon, Abby, and Detective Burrow catch up to Mariah Copeland near Albuquerque. Dominic is rescued. Mariah is arrested. And Tessa tells Daniel she is done waiting.

Tessa Porter Admits Her Feelings for Daniel Romalotti

Daniel finds Tessa at Crimson Lights looking like a woman with the weight of the world on her shoulders on The Young and the Restless. She tells him the police have a lead on Mariah — apparently heading west on Route 66 — and admits she is furious even though she knows her estranged wife must be spiraling.

Daniel wonders if some of Tessa’s guilt involves him, but she shuts that down. She stopped talking to Mariah because she believed Mariah was not interested anymore. And then comes the confession Daniel has been waiting for: she left Mariah not just because Mariah pulled away, but because she could not deny her feelings for him any longer.

Daniel tells her he will take her any way he can get her. Tessa does not regret a single thing that happened between them. When he asks what happens when Mariah returns, Tessa says they will cross that bridge when they come to it — assuming Mariah does not end up in prison.

The Winters Jet Is Closing In

Aboard the Winters jet, Abby and Devon stare out the windows with anxious energy. Abby muses that she never imagined Dominic’s first road trip would look like this. Sharon reminds them that Mariah is not the woman they know and love right now — she needs help.

Detective Burrow delivers the update: police have a visual on Mariah’s car near Albuquerque. He suggests letting local law enforcement handle it, but Abby refuses. Mariah could react badly if strangers corner her. Devon asks Sharon to approach Mariah first — she is both a therapist and Mariah’s mother. When they ask if she is ready, Sharon looks terrified but says yes.

Dominic Tells Mariah Copeland He Wants to Go Home

The fantasy Mariah Copeland has been clinging to is crumbling. She drives through the darkness with Dominic in the backseat, desperately singing songs and suggesting games. But Dominic is done. He tells her the game is not fun anymore. He does not want to hide. He misses his mom and dad and wants to go home.

When he begs again, Mariah’s voice hardens — they cannot go home because his parents do not want him there right now. Dominic asks if he did something wrong.

She tries distracting him with Mexico — the mountains, the sparkling ocean, a pink lake. Dominic does not care. He wants his snowman, his toys, his parents. He starts unbuckling his seatbelt to call them himself. Mariah screams at him to put it back on.

Mariah Copeland Has a Complete Meltdown

Mariah pulls over, crying. She whispers that she wishes Ian was there to guide her. She begs Dominic to look at her but he refuses — he is angry. She offers candy, Disneyland. He gives her silence. Then she snaps, screaming at him to show some appreciation before immediately apologizing.

What comes next is heartbreaking and horrifying. She tells him they can never go home. When he was in her belly, they shared a connection nobody can break. She will be the best mommy in the world. When she turns around, Dominic has fallen asleep. Mariah keeps whispering anyway — he will forgive her, she does not need Ian, she is a good mother.

Sharon Newman Finds Her Daughter

The passenger door opens. Mariah assumes it is Ian. It is Sharon. She tells her daughter everything will be alright, then smiles at Dominic and says some special people are waiting outside.

Dominic spots Abby and Devon. He bolts from the car screaming “Mommy!” The chase is over.

Dominic Goes Home With His Parents

On the jet, Dominic tells his parents about Mexico and Hide and Seek, but he got tired and wanted to come home. He is thrilled to find his stuffed animal and tells them he dreamed about Chance watching over him from heaven.

He shares something heartbreaking — Mariah named him Bowie in her belly and still calls him that, but he told her that is not his name. When he asks why police took her, Devon says she was not feeling well. Dominic worries he is in trouble, but his parents reassure him — they just missed him.

Mariah Copeland Is Taken Into Custody

Detective Burrow tells Mariah she will be charged with kidnapping. Sharon takes her hand. Mariah asks why she came. Sharon’s answer is simple: this is what mothers do. They find their daughters when they are lost. She will always be there.

Mariah rests her head on her mother’s shoulder and cries.

Tessa Porter Is Moving On

Devon calls Tessa with the news — Dominic is safe, Mariah is in custody. She tells Daniel through tears. He holds her close.

Tessa has something to say. She cares about Mariah, but she cannot wait for her to get better. She has to let her go. She has to move forward.
