TL;DR: On Wednesday, June 10, Young and the Restless gives us Audra reigniting Nate Hastings’s passion for medicine at Crimson Lights even though Devon shattered his surgical hand for good. Plus, Lily wants to announce Cane’s Chancellor appointment at the Shadow Room, Danny Romalotti retires from the road, and Victor walks into the GCAC after a tornado strike at his fundraiser.

Dr. Nate Hastings?

The Shadow Room opening was the place to be. Audra Charles was NOT THRILLED with the cocktail situation. She slid into Crimson Lights, found Nate Hastings, and made him explain why he was nowhere near the opening. He was not in the MOOD. He guessed someone at the club had ANNOYED her. He was correct. Audra dragged Sienna Clark‘s bartending skills in front of the man who used to be in love with her sister. Reader, Audra Charles is the reason we tune in.

The conversation pivoted to Malcolm Winters. They marveled at his recovery. Audra asked if seeing his uncle pull through had Nate missing medicine. Nate admitted it has been on his mind LATELY. Stephanie’s passion for her work has REMINDED him of his own. He talked about the spiritual rush of medicine like a man trying not to admit he is in love. Audra asked, point blank, if he would go back if his hand were FIXED. Nate has thought about it. Reader, the script CRACKED the door open.

The Whole Medical Field Is Still Wide Open

Here is where Y&R does its math. Devon Winters once SHATTERED Nate Hastings’s hand in a fight, and the doctors told him he would never operate AGAIN. Audra knows this. Nate knows this. The audience knows this. Audra has chosen to keep PUSHING anyway because she knows what we know. Surgery is ONE door in medicine. There is an entire HOSPITAL full of others. Internal medicine. Hospital administration. Research. Teaching. Telehealth. Diagnostics. Anything that does not require the precise grip of a scalpel.

The writers have been DROPPING this lit fuse for months and Wednesday is the day they let it BURN. Audra also got REAL about regrets. She admitted she does not have them even though she has gone TOO far. Nate called it a rich justification. Audra insisted she never meant to hurt him. She did the wrong thing for the right reasons. She said time and forgiveness work well TOGETHER. Nate hopes she has changed. Then he LEFT. Reader, Audra is the soft push that is going to TURN this man’s life around.

Sally Spectra Read Audra About Noah Newman

Sally Spectra walked into Crimson Lights as Nate was leaving. Nate flashed back to Devon SHATTERING his hand. Sally sat with Audra. Audra mentioned she had been pushing Nate to return to surgery. Sally cut to the chase. She told Audra she prefers her being friends with Nate over chasing Noah Newman. Reader. The ATTACK was POLITE but the message was not.

Audra claimed not to care about his “older woman girlfriend.” Sally was SKEPTICAL. Audra insisted she only cares about Spectra-Charles. Reader, Audra is in her work-girl ERA and we are tracking it like a hostage situation. Sally is also in her keep-Noah-away-from-Audra ERA and these two eras are on a COLLISION course. Pull up a chair.

Lily Winters Wanted to Announce Cane Ashby’s Appointment

At the Shadow Room, Lily Winters and Cane Ashby met up after Sienna served them drinks. Cane was STUNNED by Lily’s outfit. She reminded him he was her DATE. He said his day could not POSSIBLY get better. Then she announced she wanted to tell the room TONIGHT that he was her new Chancellor CEO. Reader, Lily wanted to put this ANNOUNCEMENT in front of the whole town like a wedding.

Cane tried to talk her out of rubbing it in Victoria’s face. He warned her Devon and Nate would not be happy either. Lily reminded him that Katherine LOVED him. Katherine left Chancellor to him in her WILL. He is the perfect person for this job. Then Holden Novak walked over and THANKED Cane again for saving his life. Then Cane asked Lily to DANCE. Then they KISSED on the floor. Reader, Y&R is letting Cane and Lily kiss in PUBLIC at the new Shadow Room while three Winters men prepare to RIOT. We have NOTES.

Danny Romalotti Retired From the Road

Daniel Romalotti and Christine Williams panicked when Danny Romalotti went missing. Daniel thought Patty Williams had taken his father. Danny walked into the Shadow Room with a perfectly innocent explanation. He had LOST his phone. He missed a FLIGHT. Reader, the relief turned into a BOMBSHELL because then Danny announced he is RETIRING from the road. He is staying with the people he loves. Christine LOVED the idea. Daniel gave him two months max. Danny Romalotti the rock star RETIREE is officially a STORYLINE.

Meanwhile at the GCAC, Adam Newman was flashing back to the fight with Billy Abbott. Chelsea Lawson found him. He told her the OLIVE branch he extended got SLAPPED out of his hand. She urged him to think more of Billy’s PAIN over his own. Then Nikki Newman BURST in. A TORNADO had hit the country club where Victor Newman was at his fundraiser. The EARTH SHOOK. Then Victor strolled in SMILING, said he had LEFT after his speech, and accused Nikki of being concerned only because of Jack. Reader, the marriage is HANGING by ONE thread and Victor is YANKING it.
