The Young and the Restless
Tuesday’s Y&R Spoilers See Nick Newman Fighting for His Life Thanks to Matt Clark
Nick Newman is being STRANGLED while driving on Tuesday’s Y&R! Matt Clark got the upper hand and we’re screaming! Will Nick survive?!
NICK NEWMAN’S SCHEME AGAINST MATT CLARK GOES ALL THE WAY SIDEWAYS ON TUESDAY’S Y&R
TL;DR:ย Nick Newman’s plan for Matt Clark takes a dangerous turn on Tuesday’s Y&R because Matt is literally CHOKING HIM while he drives. This man is being strangled from the backseat and we’re screaming! Plus, Victor and Nikki get unsettling news, and Phyllis has opinions about Daniel and Tessa.
Nick, Buddy, Eyes on the Road… Oh Wait, You’re Being Strangled
So remember when Nick Newman was “in the driver’s seat” and we all thought that sounded so triumphant? TURNS OUT IT WAS LITERAL. And also a TERRIBLE place to be when your kidnapping victim’s psycho ex-husband reaches around from the backseat WITH HIS HANDCUFFED HANDS and starts CHOKING YOU WHILE YOU DRIVE.
Yes,ย Y&Rย fans, that’s where we left off Monday. Matt Clark said “you thought these handcuffs would stop me?” and wrapped his arms around Nick’s throat like this is a Fast & Furious movie. Nick Newman is currently being strangled while operating a moving vehicle, and Tuesday’s episode is going to show us exactly how badly this goes.
Write in to the editor atย amber@soapoperamagazine.comย and tell me how YOU think this Y&R storyline will play out. What do YOU want to happen next? If you have a theory, we want to hear it!
The Newmans Really Said “Let’s Put the Murderer in the Backseat”
We need to talk about the planning here. The Newmans had ONE job: transport Matt Clark safely. They have billions of dollars, an army of security guards, and Victor’s decades of criminal expertise. And their solution was to put the handcuffed psychopath in the BACKSEAT? Behind the DRIVER? Within STRANGLING DISTANCE?
Did no one watch a single episode of any crime show ever? Did Victor’s security team not consider that handcuffs don’t actually stop someone from using their arms as a weapon? Matt Clark has been plotting revenge for YEARS and they thought “eh, handcuffs in the backseat should be fine.” LOOK WHERE THAT GOT YOU, NICK.
Now Nick Newman is getting choked out while driving, which means a car accident is basically inevitable. Will they crash? Will Matt escape in the chaos? Will Nick pass out at the wheel and veer into oncoming traffic? The possibilities are endless and all of them are TERRIBLE. Joshua Morrow is probably having the time of his life filming this ridiculousness.
Matt Clark: Still the Worst, Still Winning
You have to almost respect Matt Clark’s commitment to chaos at this point. This man was handcuffed, captured, and being transported by the Newman family’s finest, and he STILL found a way to get the upper hand. He’s like a supervillain who just won’t quit. Annoying? Absolutely. Impressive? Also yes.
Roger Howarth is clearly having a BLAST playing this unhinged maniac. Matt went from “I’m going to kill Sienna and Noah” to “actually, let me strangle Nick first” without missing a beat. The man adapts! He pivots! He finds opportunities in every situation! If Matt Clark put this energy into literally anything else, he’d be running Newman Enterprises by now.
The real question is what happens after the inevitable crash. Does Matt escape into the woods like some kind of feral revenge goblin? Does Nick manage to fight him off? Does Sienna, who we assume is also in this car, somehow save the day? Tuesday’s Y&R is going to be WILD.
Victor and Nikki Get the Worst Phone Call
Meanwhile, back at Newman Ranch, Victor and Nikki receive unsettling news on Tuesday. Wonder what THAT could be about! “Hey Victor, just calling to let you know your son is being strangled while driving and your brilliant plan has completely fallen apart. Happy Tuesday!”
Victor is going to LOSE it. He was so confident. He had his men in position. He told Adam that Nick Newman would “take care of Matt and make sure he stays down.” And now Nick is the one being taken down, by a handcuffed man, in a moving car. The Mustache is going to need a strong drink and probably a new security team.
Nikki, who has been worried sick this entire time, is going to spiral. Her son is in danger AGAIN because of Matt Clark AGAIN. This woman has been through enough! She deserves peace! But instead she gets a phone call telling her Nick Newman might be in a ditch somewhere while Matt Clark escapes into the wind.
Phyllis Has Opinions, As Is Tradition
In non-strangling Y&R news, Phyllis Summers has some choice words about Daniel and Tessa’s romance on Tuesday. Because even when Nick Newman is fighting for his life, Phyllis still has time to meddle in her son’s love life. That’s called range, people.
Daniel and Tessa have been getting close since Mariah decided therapy means cutting off everyone who cares about her. Phyllis is probably not thrilled her son is catching feelings for a married woman, even if that marriage is circling the drain. “Choice words” from Phyllis could mean a gentle warning or a full-on Crimson Lights meltdown. We’re betting meltdown.
Drop a comment below: Seriously though, WHY didn’t they put Matt in the trunk? And do you think Nick Newman survives this car situation?
