Nikki Hands Over the Rings and Victor Smells a Rat
Nikki Newman is quietly quizzing her phone about surgery risks when Victor Newman turns up at her GCAC suite, and she reluctantly waves him in. He fills her in on the brunch and accuses her of skipping it to dodge him, then circles straight to the headaches. Nikki swears it is nothing, her doctor chalked it up to stress, end of story. Victor does not buy a syllable of it.
This is the man who has spent decades reading his wife like a ledger, and every instinct is screaming. He says he is sure it is serious. She insists she is fine. He heads for the door muttering that he was worried after her episode, and the moment hangs there, heavy with everything she is not saying.
Of course, these two cannot share air without a brawl. Victor makes it clear he is not budging on his plans for Matt Clark, and Nikki Newman calls him reckless. He fires back that she causes her own headaches, she snaps that he is the cause of her stress, and he delivers the dagger: he would rather have Matt in the house than her. So she orders him out and slaps her rings into his palm on the way.
He pockets them, gives that infuriating little finger wave, and exits. The trouble is, Victor leaves more suspicious than ever, and a suspicious Mustache is a dangerous one.
Then Nate Hastings arrives with the verdict nobody wants. He has reviewed the MRI and agrees with the surgeon completely, the procedure is extremely dangerous. In a raw, desperate moment, Nikki Newman asks him to do the surgery himself, and he gently reminds her he cannot operate.
She knows. She is simply drowning. They weigh radiation against surgery, he offers to track down a surgeon, and he urges her to stop white-knuckling this alone and let people in. Easier said than done for a woman who hands back her wedding rings rather than admit she is scared.

Kyle and Jack Go Full Stakeout Over Diane
Over at the Chancellor Park Cafรฉ, Jack Abbott meets Kyle Abbott, who he thanks for rescuing him from one more bite of Patty Williams‘ quiche. Kyle has been busy, he tailed Laurence Markham to a gated estate buried in the woods by Powers Lake and learned it is the doctor’s private home. Since Markham supposedly is not even Diane’s physician, the boys land on an ugly theory: Diane Jenkins may have no real doctor at all.
Jack points out that any man who thinks Patty is cured is seriously off his game, so he is determined to find out whether Diane is stashed at that fortress. He wants to move carefully, spook Patty and she could whisk Diane somewhere new. Kyle is horrified to hear Patty wants a wedding, and Jack repeats that they have to strip away her leverage.
That means getting inside Markham’s house. Kyle wants to call the cops, Jack wants caution, and Kyle, deciding they are out of time, announces he will break in himself. Jack thinks that is a terrible idea. He is probably right, but when has a Abbott ever let a terrible idea stop him?
Diane Spins Her Captor in a Therapy Session
Back at the estate, Diane thanks Markham for keeping her close rather than shipping her off, and he wastes no time digging into the night she caught Jack with another woman. He knows the details because she has been rambling, and he nods along as she insists she and Jack were near perfect before that yacht.
Then he drops something that stops her cold. He brings up the ecstasy, and she cannot remember ever telling him about it. He coolly explains that ecstasy is not a date-rape drug and will not make a person act against their will, then floats the idea that Jack was sending her a message. Diane choking up over the worst night of her life is one thing, but a captor who knows about the drugs she never mentioned is a whole new flavor of alarming.
She unspools her deepest fear, that she never truly had Jack’s heart, that he forgave her for something awful and she could not believe it was real. Markham, ever so helpful, suggests maybe that is a sign she should not forgive him either. Move on, he croons. The man is good. He is also clearly running a game of his own.
Victoria Cracks and Tells Claire Everything
At the GCAC, Claire Newman catches her mother mid-cry and immediately knows something is wrong. Victoria Newman tries to cover, blaming the mystery headaches, while Claire confesses she may have made things worse by telling Victor about them and that he took Nikki’s brunch no-show personally.
Then Victoria breaks her own promise. She admits the diagnosis is far worse than she let on, and Claire is stunned to learn her grandmother could go blind, surgery and all. Watching Nikki crumble at that news gutted Victoria, and now she swears Claire to secrecy too, while both of them silently pray Nikki Newman tells Victor herself.
No such luck on the timing. Victor strolls down, admits he and his wife had it out, and clocks that Victoria has suddenly changed her tune about pushing them together. He wants to know why. Are they hiding something about Nikki’s health? The Mustache is already pulling the thread, and this family could not keep a secret in a vault.
