Nick Newman Is the Most Worried Person in the Room and He Does Not Even Know It

Over at Crimson Lights, Nick Newman is doing that thing where he absolutely insists he is fine while clearly being the opposite of fine. He has a plan. He is going to Vegas. He is going to find Reza and stop Matt Clark and handle this himself and nobody needs to worry.

Adam Newman shows up and immediately volunteers to go with him, because he remembers where Reza lived and because for once in his life Adam is trying to be a good brother. Nick says no. Sharon Newman shows up and lands on Adam’s side, which tells you absolutely everything about how scared she really is. Nick digs in anyway.

Meanwhile, Noah Newman and Sienna Bacall are at Society picking at their food while Matt Clark sends threatening texts like the absolute menace he is. Sienna has noticed something about Nick that nobody else wants to say out loud. She has seen that look before. On her brother. Right before everything fell apart. She tells Noah because she loved her brother and did not say anything and she will not make that mistake again. Noah defends his dad. But he heard her. Thursday makes sure of that.

Chelsea Lawson Is Scared and She Is Right to Be

Thursday saves some of its quietest and most devastating moments for Chelsea Lawson and Adam. He tells her he remembers where Reza is. He tells her he offered to go to Vegas with Nick. He tells her it will be fine and this will only make him stronger.

Chelsea looks at the man she loves and tells him the truth. She is as afraid of Spider as she is of Matt Clark himself. That name. That history. The version of Adam that Spider represents is not a version Chelsea ever wants to see again, and she is standing there watching him walk straight back toward it with the best possible intentions and the most dangerous possible past.

Adam promises her everything will be okay. The Young and the Restless lets that promise hang in the air on Thursday without telling us whether it is true. Which is exactly why we cannot stop watching.
