Y&R Spoilers: Diane Jenkins Cringes as Phyllis Summers Flaunts Arabesque Power at Society
Diane Jenkins cringes as Phyllis Summers arrives at Society boasting about Arabesque. The rivals trade vicious barbs while Jack Abbott suspects Cane’s playing games. Y&R drama explodes!
Y&R SPOILERS: PHYLLIS AND DIANE’S SOCIETY SHOWDOWN EXPLODES AS JACK SEES RIGHT THROUGH CANE’S GAME
TL;DR: At Society restaurant, Phyllis Summers confronts rival Diane Jenkins, bragging about her “epic” new job at Arabesque while calling Diane “tacky, tired, and old,” but Jack Abbott suspects Cane Ashby is manipulating Phyllis as part of a larger scheme.
ROUND 1000 OF THE PHYLLIS/DIANE WAR JUST WENT NUCLEAR
The moment Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) strutted into Society, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) literally CRINGED. And honestly? Who can blame her! These two have been at each other’s throats for decades, and just when Diane thought she could enjoy a peaceful meal with her husband, Hurricane Phyllis blows in ready to cause chaos.
But here’s where things get REALLY interesting…
What’s Phyllis Bragging About at Arabesque?
Phyllis is throwing around words like “epic” to describe her mysterious new position at Arabesque, but she’s being suspiciously vague about what she’s actually DOING there. She claims there’s just a “tiny delay” because her boss Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) is taking “family time.”
Family time? REALLY?
Given Cane’s history of faking his own death, embezzling money, and showing up as a mysterious billionaire named Aristotle Dumas, that excuse sounds about as believable as one of Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) retirement announcements!
Does Diane Take the Bait From Phyllis?
No, Diane is NOT having it. She’s been down this road with Phyllis too many times to count. Remember when Phyllis literally faked her own death and tried to frame Diane for murder? Yeah, these two have HISTORY with a capital H!
Phyllis couldn’t resist throwing shade, calling Diane “tacky, tired, and old” — which is RICH coming from someone who’s been married to half of Genoa City and has more schemes under her belt than a comic book villain! The hypocrisy is OFF THE CHARTS, but that’s never stopped Red before.
Is Jack Right About Cane Playing Phyllis?
Yes, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is absolutely onto something! While Phyllis is busy taunting his wife, Jack’s spider-sense is TINGLING. He suspects Cane is playing Phyllis and “biding his time” — and considering Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) just warned him about Cane’s latest plans, Jack has every reason to be suspicious.
Think about it: Cane returns to town as this mysterious billionaire, creates a company with a vague mission, and immediately hires Phyllis — the most chaotic person in Genoa City? That’s not a business strategy, that’s a WEAPON being aimed directly at Jabot!
What’s Next for Phyllis and Diane?
Could this mean Phyllis is walking straight into a trap? Don’t be surprised if Cane is using her as a distraction while he executes his REAL plan. Given Phyllis’s history of letting her hatred for Diane blind her to obvious red flags, this could end VERY badly for her.
Reading between the lines, Victor probably has his fingerprints ALL over this. When has Cane ever done anything without an ulterior motive? And when has Phyllis ever been able to resist an opportunity to stick it to Diane? This has disaster written all over it!
Something tells me Diane is going to end up as collateral damage in whatever corporate war is brewing. And Phyllis? She’s so busy calling Diane old and tired that she can’t see she’s being played like a fiddle!
Will This Feud EVER End?
The Diane/Phyllis war has been going on for so long, it should have its own Wikipedia page! These two have fought over Jack, over Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), over everything and anything. Now with Phyllis armed with her mysterious new position at Arabesque, Round 1000 of their eternal battle is just getting started.
But while Phyllis is busy fighting yesterday’s war with Diane, Jack sees the bigger picture. He knows Cane didn’t come back to town just to give Phyllis a platform to torment his wife. There’s something much more sinister at play here, and Phyllis is too blinded by her vendetta to see it.
Mark my words — this is going to blow up SPECTACULARLY. When Phyllis finally realizes she’s been used as a pawn in someone else’s game, the fallout is going to be EPIC. And Diane? She’ll probably be sipping champagne and enjoying every minute of Phyllis’s downfall!
The real question is: will Jack be able to protect Diane from whatever scheme Cane is cooking up? Or will Phyllis’s chaos create enough of a smokescreen for Cane to execute his real plan against Jabot?
One thing’s for sure — with these four in the mix, Society is about to become ground zero for the next corporate war in Genoa City!
