The Young and the Restless
Poor Rich Lonely Woman? Can Y&R’s Phyllis Summers Use Her Newfound Power to Win Back Love?
Phyllis Summers has the club, the clout, and a silent phone, so can her shiny new power buy back Summer’s love and a good man on Y&R?
PHYLLIS SUMMERS BOUGHT THE CLUB BUT NOT HER DAUGHTER’S HEART
TL;DR: Phyllis Summers has Arabesque, the Genoa City Athletic Club, and a building across from Newman Tower, but no daughter on the line and no man worth keeping. Follow the Y&R spoilers to see if her new clout can buy anything that matters.

The Richest Lonely Woman in Genoa City
Phyllis Summers now owns Arabesque, the Genoa City Athletic Club, and the building across from Newman Tower, which is a lot of square footage for a woman whose last call to her daughter ended in a dial tone. She financed her shopping spree with loans she was awfully shy about explaining to Cane Ashby and Adam Newman, then delivered the news to Victor Newman like a woman unveiling a trophy. The respect is arriving right on schedule. The affection is running very late.
Nick Newman and Sharon Newman got the same announcement, because a woman holding fresh deeds apparently owes the whole town a press conference.
Her son Daniel Romalotti did sign on as co-CEO beside Lauren Fenmore, and he wants to keep her centered while she does something legit for once. That is love with a side of probation. Meanwhile Victor predicts she will lose, Adam called Arabesque a pity bone, and Phyllis vowed to outgrow the Newman empire within a year, which is a mighty big promise from someone still waiting for her kids to cheer.

Can Prestige Buy Summer Back?
Here is the part no deed can cover. Summer Newman has stayed off screen, yet she has never been far from Phyllis’ mind. When Phyllis phoned her in tears, apologized, and asked if they could be a family again, Summer hung up. Daniel says both women want to trust each other again, so the door is not welded shut, but it is not exactly swinging open either. Phyllis Summers has even admitted her kids have not been supportive, which tells us she knows exactly which chairs at her grand opening will sit empty.
She might think a bigger name in town makes a better mother, and it is a tempting theory. A daughter who watched her mom get arrested in May and rename a company “Summer’s Conglomerate” first, though, may need a different kind of proof. Lauren is already telling Phyllis to drop the rebrand she wants, SFR, and forget sticking it to Victor. Maybe the grand gesture Summer would actually respect is a boring one, like Phyllis keeping her word without an audience.

Wanted: One Good Man, Criminals Need Not Apply
The man problem is stickier. Matt Clark, her amnesiac redemption project since July, is spiraling hard. He crashed a car with Patty Williams, hid in the trunk of Sharon’s car, and begged Sharon for help, which is not what a stable boyfriend does. Phyllis left him a voicemail asking if he is okay, then told Nick he was ancient history. Ancient history who keeps showing up in the rearview mirror, apparently.
The recaps offer no tall, dark, law-abiding stranger waiting in the wings, so Phyllis Summers is shopping an empty aisle. Cane says she craves approval, and Victor will happily use that hunger against her. A woman starving for validation tends to pick the wrong plate, so maybe the club is the safest thing she will own this year.

Betting on the Boss Lady
Will the cash register finally teach her that respect is not the same as love, or will Phyllis Summers find the one price tag that works on Summer? Is a decent man hiding behind the next velvet rope, or will she keep chasing trouble because trouble always answers? Probably not, but we will be front row watching her try.
