Drink Everytime Summer Says “My Son” & Radiates Phyllis
This week on “Beat the Dead Horse,” otherwise known as Young & the Restless, Summer Newman is obsessed with her son for all the wrong reasons. If Y&R fans took a sip of their favorite adult beverage every time Summer mentioned “her son” they would be drunk.
Summer’s feelings about “her son” Harrison have been over-conveyed so much that her brother Daniel has called her on radiating their mother Phyllis Summers. The return of Harrison’s biological mother Tara Locke is so past due. Supergirl Summer needs to be put in her place.

Seriously, do Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) & Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) really love their mother? Yet again it seems they love Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) out of convenience when it’s convenient for them. Just as fast as Phyllis went above & beyond to find her son Daniel a job, Daniel is rightfully so calling his sister Summer on her BS but is doing so by trashing his mother.
There is no doubt that between Hunter King & Allison Lanier portraying Summer Newman on Young & the Restless that Allison Lanier nails being Phyllis Summer’s mini-me. Daniel may have a point, but can he ease up on dissing his mother? Is Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) really the only one in her fan club right now?
Tara Locke Returning to Genoa City: Past Due on Y&R
There is absolutely no way that Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) is still in jail in New York for her silly money laundering deal. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) killed her ex-husband Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) & didn’t spend one single night in the clink. Almost every single Young & the Restless fan either cringes or takes a swig every single time Summer Newman udders the words “my son.”
Little Harrison (Redding Munsell) doesn’t even have a picture of his biological mother in his bedroom. Tara Locke is never mentioned despite raising him for the first three years of his life. Not one detail on Young & the Restless has ever pointed to Tara being a sub-par mother to Harrison. It’s time for her to return for her son & Summer Newman to be put in her place.
Y&R Doubles Down on Paternity Test Storylines, Again
The powers that be at CBS on behalf of Young & the Restless never mind beating the dead horse with paternity test storylines, yet there have been missed opportunities. Paternity test results are actually a really big deal & in soap opera world can be tainted. Just like Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) new girlfriend Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) who just went through one DNA test, Kyle’s son Harrison just had one paternity test.
Isn’t this something anyone especially with the last name Newman or Abbott would want to double-check? Little Harrison has Newman & Abbott ties & so does Claire. For all Young & the Restless fans know, it might not even be right for Kyle Abbott to be saying “my son.”
