Phyllis Summers is more nuts right now than usual & everyone in Genoa City on Young & the Restless is wondering why. Have these people never met Phyllis before? While she is very intelligent, it’s not hard or complex to know what not to do to piss her off.

This Just In… Phyllis Summers Hates Diane Jenkins
No, it’s not actually. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) has hated Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) since day one. Yet her forever friend Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) continues to be close with Diane & will represent her as her attorney any time she gets into a jam. Michael seriously will represent Diane even if the crime involves Phyllis somehow.
Then there is Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). There will always be love between Smilin’ Jack & ‘Red.’ Yet, Jack Abbott has managed to fall for Diane Jenkins again later in life & he claims to be happily married to her. Now Jack Abbott has danced his way into asking his good friend Lauren Fenmore (Tracey B. Bregman) to set an example in Genoa City in being kind to his wife Diane. Lauren Fenmore has been a dear friend of Phyllis’s as well, however, their friendship is on pause since Lauren’s husband Michael Baldwin agreed to represent another one of Phyllis’s nemesis, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).
So, Michael Baldwin is representing Sharon Newman after she confessed to killing Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) but has remembered that she didn’t. Since Michael has had a heart-to-heart with Diane Jenkins & has rebooted their friendship even though Jack & Diane were recently galavanting around Genoa City fake fighting.

This Just In, Phyllis Summers Hates Sharon Newman
Again, this fact is not just in. This fact is old & anyone who has spent any time with Phyllis or Sharon should be well aware of the hatred that these women have for one another. Yet, Michael Baldwin has pledged himself to get Sharon out of her latest jam. Why couldn’t Michael refer another lawyer? The last time Phyllis was in a jam, Michael was unavailable to help her & referred Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) & it worked out great. Now Heather is dead, but where is Heather Sinclair (Mishael Morgan)? Christine Blair was not an option as she was already defending Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) after he was arrested for killing Heather. Regardless, there are other attorneys & there should be friendly respect, especially with the age & depth of Phyllis’s & Michael’s friendship.

Soon to Be Trending in Genoa City, Friending Diane
Now that Jack Abbott has asked his dear friend Lauren Fenmore to make her New Year’s resolution to not only tolerate his wife Diane but to be friendly, Lauren’s friends will be sure to follow, except for Phyllis Summers. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will be first on Lauren’s list as they are very dear friends. Lauren not only had Nikki’s back in 2024 but she was there for her personally & professionally. Nikki hates Diane Jenkins almost as much as Phyllis hates Diane, but Nikki also hates Phyllis. There’s no doubt Nikki will want to repay her dear friend Lauren meanwhile pissing off Phyllis while she’s at it.
Best friends have their best friend’s backs, unless one of the best friends is Phyllis Summers, apparently on Y&R.
