TL;DR: On The Young and the Restless, Riza’s return has fans buzzing about a possible secret child from Adam Newman’s Spider era, and the breadcrumbs are everywhere. Could this Vegas bombshell destroy Adam’s life with Chelsea Lawson?

What Is Riza Really Hiding From Adam Newman?

Okay Y&R fans, gather around because this one is JUICY. Riza Thomson (Tina Casciani) sashayed back into Genoa City—well, technically Las Vegas—on March 23, and she did NOT come alone. She came with secrets. Big ones. The kind of secrets that have the power to detonate a marriage, a family, and possibly an entire bloodline.

And honey, the breadcrumbs are not subtle.

When Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) reactivated his old “Spider” persona to flush out Matt Clark, the writers handed Riza the easiest setup in soap history. She kissed him on March 24. She teased their past. And then she dropped THE line: “you’d remember.” Excuse me?! That was not a casual remark. That was a flag waving from the top of the Stratosphere.

Why Mark Grossman’s Interview Has Fans Losing Their Minds

Here is where it gets really good. Mark Grossman himself—the actor playing Adam—told Soap Opera Digest there is “a lot we don’t know” about Adam’s Spider years and his history with Riza Thomson. Sweetie. SWEETIE. When the lead actor publicly says we don’t know the full story, that is not random. That is a tell.

And let’s review Adam’s track record, shall we?

Connor? Secret child. Adam had no idea for years. Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) hid the whole thing.

Christian? Secret child. Conceived while Adam was running around as Gabriel Bingham—another fake identity, another foggy memory, another mama keeping quiet.

So now we have Adam in his THIRD altered-identity arc, with a woman who has zero family history on canvas, who openly admits she remembers things he can’t, and who returned after six years off-screen with apparently no other reason to exist. Are we supposed to believe this is just a Vegas heist plot? Please.

The Sienna Bacall Connection That Makes This Even Messier

While all this Vegas mess is unfolding, Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) is racing into the desert to save Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) from an overdose Matt Clark engineered. Sienna lost her own brother to addiction—canon, confirmed, aired March 12—and she has been carrying that grief like a loaded weapon ever since.

Could she be carrying Narcan too? Reading between the lines, that lightning-bolt charm she gave Noah was not just decoration. It was foreshadowing.

Meanwhile, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) are chained up at an abandoned gas station, and Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) is grinning at surveillance footage of Nick collapsing. Riza just took $500,000 to flip on him. The whole thing is a powder keg waiting for the match.

What’s Next for Riza Thomson and Adam Newman?

Don’t be surprised if Riza cracks under pressure and confesses something Adam is NOT prepared to hear. My gut tells me a secret child reveal is coming—maybe not next week, but soon. Why else bring her back? Why else give her that “you’d remember” line?

If history is any guide, Y&R writers do not plant amnesia hooks for fun. They plant them to harvest paternity reveals. And Chelsea? She is going to find out the hard way that Adam’s past in Vegas was a whole lot busier than he ever told her.

Could this mean the end of Adam and Chelsea? Could a Spider-era child show up on Adam’s doorstep in the next sweeps period? Something tells me the writers brought Riza Thomson back for one specific reason, and they have been waiting for this moment since 2019.

Drop a comment and tell us—do YOU think Riza is hiding a secret child? Or is she just shaking down Adam for cash before disappearing into the Vegas night again? Sound off below!

When is Josh Griffin going to stop writing and rewriting the past on this show? Is this all he can do?? He is boring us to death with this garbage. This is the 21st century. I have already seen these storylines and all of these old characters. What is wrong with Griffin?? Can’t he write anything new, introducing new cast members??? All of this past garbage is old. Antiquated garbage, I am so turned off.
