The Young and the Restless
Victor and Nikki Arrive on the Red Carpet at the Genoa City Athletic Club | The Young and the Restless Recap – March 23, 2023
Victor Newman and Nikki Reed Newman made quite the entrance on the red carpet of the Genoa City Athletic Club for the gala. The paparazzi swarmed around them, snapping pictures as the couple posed for the cameras. They looked like the perfect power couple, dressed to the nines and ready to celebrate with the whole town.
As they made their way inside, Nikki couldn’t help but notice that the bar had been stocked with Victor’s favorite tequila. It was the perfect way to kick off the evening, and she smiled at her husband as they made their way through the crowd.
Victor was looking forward to the gala, and he assured Nikki that everyone would be able to set aside their petty differences for at least ten minutes to enjoy the festivities. But as they mingled with the other guests, it quickly became apparent that not everyone was on board with this sentiment.
Ashley Abbott made her entrance down the stairs at the Abbott mansion, turning heads with her stunning gown. But she wasn’t alone for long, as Tucker McCall arrived at the door wearing a mask. He asked her on a date, but she explained that she was planning on going to the gala by herself.
Tucker thought it would be more fun to go with her, but Ashley was hesitant. She knew that her presence at the gala would be scrutinized by her family and friends, and she didn’t want to give them any more reason to talk.
Meanwhile, Jack Abbott was watching the exchange with narrowed eyes, clearly disapproving of Tucker’s advances on his sister. He knew that Ashley had been hurt by Tucker in the past, and he didn’t want to see her get hurt again.
Abby Newman found herself stammering at Amanda Sinclair on the patio of the Crimson Lights. She wanted to talk to Amanda, but she didn’t know how to start the conversation. It didn’t help that Amanda reminded her of the time she had walked in on Abby and Devon Hamilton half-naked.
But Abby persisted, following Amanda as she tried to leave. She pleaded with Amanda, explaining that there was something she wanted to say to her but hadn’t had the chance. Finally, she apologized for the pain she had caused her, but Amanda wasn’t interested in hearing her explanation.
Nate Hastings noticed Devon Hamilton looking troubled and asked if everything was okay. Devon brushed him off, insisting that he was fine. But Nate could tell that something was bothering him and pressed on, asking how the arbitration was going.
Devon scoffed at the idea that Nate cared, clearly still resentful over his involvement in the case. He knew that Nate had taken Amanda’s side in the dispute over his family’s music catalog, and he couldn’t help but feel betrayed by his former friend.
Meanwhile, Jill Abbott was discussing her decision to drop the IPO with Lily Winters. She had thought that it would make all the difference for Devon, but she was starting to realize that maybe he would never come around. She wanted to know why Lily had pushed her to drop the IPO, but Lily just smiled and shrugged.
Jill explained that a strong leader had to be able to change their mind, and she was beginning to see that there were other ways to help Devon achieve his goals. She just hoped that he would be able to see that too, eventually.
As the evening wore on, the crowd at the gala grew larger and more boisterous. Sally Spectra and Nick Newman arrived, looking every bit the power couple themselves. Sally was starting to get nervous, but Nick assured her that everything would be great.
Victoria Newman flashed back to an argument she had had with Nick about Adam and their father’s plan for him to run McCall Unlimited.
