The Young and the Restless
Y&R’s Victor Newman Sent Cole Howard Away Right Before He Got Sick and Nobody Has Ever Asked Why
On Young and the Restless, Victor Newman spent years warning Cole Howard away from Victoria. Then Cole got sick after a trip abroad.
VICTOR NEWMAN’S FINGERPRINTS ARE ALL OVER COLE HOWARD’S FINAL DAYS
TL;DR: Victor Newman spent years trying to keep Cole Howard away from Victoria Newman, and then Cole took a trip abroad right before he came down with the pneumonia that killed him. Nobody in Genoa City has ever connected those two facts out loud, but we are done ignoring the timeline.
A Convenient Trip, a Convenient Diagnosis
Let’s revisit what actually happened. Victor Newman spent years warning Cole Howard to stay away from Victoria, and Cole never once listened. He kept showing up. He kept reminding Victor that he was not sixteen years old and did not need permission to be around the mother of his child. That is not a man Victor Newman simply lets go. That is a man Victor Newman handles.
Then Cole Howard took a trip abroad, and shortly after, he came down with the pneumonia that ultimately took his life while Claire Newman was in Chicago. We are supposed to accept that as a tragic coincidence. In Genoa City. Where nothing is ever a tragic coincidence, especially not when Victor Newman had a documented, repeated, years long motive to get this man permanently out of his daughter’s life.

Nobody Is Ever Good Enough for Victoria, and Cole Paid the Price
Here is the pattern nobody wants to say out loud. Victor Newman has never, not once, decided that a man was good enough for his daughter. Nate Hastings was not good enough. Ashland Locke was not good enough. Billy Abbott was absolutely not good enough. And Cole Howard, a man who actually stuck around, actually coparented, and actually refused to be scared off, was apparently the least acceptable of all, because he is the one who ended up dead after an out of town trip Victor had every reason to arrange or encourage.
We are not saying Victor Newman personally poisoned anybody’s in flight meal. What we are saying is that this is a man with the money, the connections, and the documented motive to make an inconvenient person disappear from his daughter’s orbit, and Cole Howard’s death came at an extremely convenient time for exactly one person in Genoa City.
Victor Newman does not have to hold the murder weapon. Victor Newman has never needed to. He arranges circumstances and lets them do the work, and a mysterious trip followed by a sudden fatal illness has his fingerprints all over it whether anyone in that family wants to admit it or not.ย Victoria Newmanย lost the father of her child right as Claire needed him most, and the man who spent years trying to erase Cole from Victoria’s life is the one who never has to answer for the timing.
Do you think Victor Newman had something to do with what happened to Cole Howard, or is this really just a coincidence? Tell us what you think really happened.
