The Young and the Restless
Victoria Newman and Adam Are Teaming Up But Let’s Be Real: Who’s Backstabbing Who First on Y&R?
Victoria Newman and Adam are teaming up but we’re already placing bets on who backstabs who first! These egos are too big for one alliance!
VICTORIA NEWMAN AND ADAM SAY THEY’RE WORKING TOGETHER BUT WE’RE TAKING BETS ON WHO BETRAYS WHO FIRST?
TL;DR: Victoria Newman and Adam are joining forces to save Newman Enterprises from Cane and Phyllis. Sounds great on paper! But these two have egos the size of Texas and we’re already placing bets on who stabs the other in the back first on The Young and the Restless*.*
Hell Has Frozen Over
Victoria Newman and Adam are teaming up. Let that sink in for a second. These two have been at each other’s throats for YEARS. They’ve schemed against each other. They’ve stolen positions from each other. They’ve said things that would make Thanksgiving dinner permanently awkward.
And now they’re supposed to work together to save Newman Enterprises from Cane and Phyllis?
We give it a week. TOPS.

Victoria Newman’s Ego Won’t Let Adam Lead
Let’s start with Victoria. This woman has spent her ENTIRE life believing she’s the rightful heir to Newman Enterprises. She’s Victor’s firstborn. She’s put in the work. She’s earned her seat at the table through blood, sweat, and an impressive collection of power suits.
And now she’s supposed to treat Adam as an equal partner?
Victoria Newman doesn’t DO equal partnerships. She does “I’m in charge and everyone else falls in line.” The second Adam tries to make a decision without consulting her, Victoria is going to lose her mind. The second he suggests a strategy she doesn’t like, she’ll remind him that she was running this company while he was off being a con man.
Victoria tolerating Adam is one thing. Victoria sharing power with Adam? That’s a ticking time bomb.
Adam Has a Chip on His Shoulder the Size of Newman Tower
Now let’s talk about Adam. This man has spent his entire life feeling like an outsider in his own family. He’s been rejected, villainized, and treated like the black sheep no matter how many times he tries to prove himself.
Does that sound like someone who’s going to play nice with his sister? The sister who has ALWAYS looked down on him? The sister who has made it very clear she thinks he doesn’t deserve the Newman name?
Adam is going to walk into this alliance with a massive chip on his shoulder. He’s going to be looking for any sign that Victoria Newman doesn’t respect him. He’s going to interpret every suggestion as an insult. He’s going to be waiting for her to betray him, which means he might just betray her first as a preemptive strike.
Victor Usually Pits Them Against Each Other
Here’s the other problem on Young and the Restless: these two have been TRAINED to compete. Victor Newman has spent decades pitting his children against each other for his approval. He’s dangled the CEO position like a carrot. He’s played favorites depending on the day. He’s created an environment where Victoria and Adam see each other as rivals, not siblings.
You can’t undo years of psychological warfare overnight. Even if Victoria and Adam genuinely WANT to work together, their instincts are going to kick in. The first time Victor praises one of them, the other will spiral. The first time one of them gets credit for saving the company, the other will seethe.
Cane and Phyllis might not even need to defeat the Newmans. They just need to wait for Victoria and Adam to destroy each other.
Our Official Prediction
Okay, we’re placing our bets. Who backstabs who first?
We’re going with ADAM. Here’s our reasoning: Victoria has more to lose. She’s the established Newman heir. She’s got her reputation to protect. She’ll try to maintain the alliance as long as possible because she knows how bad it’ll look if she’s the one who breaks it.
Adam, on the other hand, has nothing to lose and everything to prove. The second he sees an opportunity to come out on top AND make Victoria look bad? He’s taking it. He’ll justify it by saying Victoria was going to betray him anyway. He’ll tell himself he had no choice.
And honestly? He might be right. But he’ll still be the one to pull the trigger first.
Sound off below! Team Victoria or Team Adam? Who’s betraying who first?
