Someone needs to say it & we here at soapoperamagazine.com will shout it, Allison Lanier following up Hunter King portraying Summer Newman is exactly what Young & the Restless fans needed. Parenthood, her mother faking her death, her son being kidnapped, a custody battle, running a large company, & now what has gone on since Heather Stevens was killed has been all another version of her mother Phyllis Summers by the great Michelle Stafford but without the sins.

Hunter King Was All Kyle, Kyle, Kyle on Y&R

While Hunter King portraying Summer Newman was absolutely stunning & did a fabulous job & it wasn’t until after Summer was recast to be portrayed by Allison Lanier that Young & the Restless fans realized that Super Girl Summer Newman had grown up.

Summer Newman (Hunter King) was all about & on-again-off-again with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) full-time. Sure, when was preoccupied with using Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) to make Kyle jealous it was an exciting break for Y&R fans, but then Theo left town & Summer by Hunter bounced back to Kyle like a dodgeball. Then there was that time she finally got into bed with her mother’s ex-boyfriend Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) after being wildly obsessed with him out of boredom & immaturity. Summer Newman by Allison Lanier doesn’t like to talk about that sexual adventure though. She’s all grown up.

Y&R’s Newest & Youngest Mother, CEO, & Mother Protector

Summer Newman now portrayed by Allison Lanier is knocking it out of the freaking park. Super Girl is a grown-up now, yet her parents Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) & Phyllis Summers still give her a sporadic nickname call, but it’s sweet & not quite often enough yet to be annoying to Young & the Restless fans.

As fast as Allison Lanier landed on Y&R’s open credits, she was a full-time mother to Harrison living with her then husband Kyle Abbott at the Abbott Estate with one of her least favorite people, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). Before everyone knew it, she was running Marchetti under the Abbott Umbrella inside the Jabot Tower in Genoa City.

Then Young & the Restless fans learned that faking one’s death as a mother is not an equal opportunity option, at least to Kyle Abbott. When Diane came back from the dead Kyle forgave her as fast as Mrs. Martinez makes cookies for Harrison on-demand. However, when Summer’s mother Phyllis ran into a similar situation, Kyle called for divorce.

Now Summer Newman is putting on the brakes with her current boyfriend, Genoa City’s worst detective ever Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd)… In light of the aftermath of his botched handling of the murder of her brother Daniel Romalotti’s (Michael Graziadei) almost wife again Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom). Her mother Phyllis is in a hospital bed on her way out of a coma that almost killed her sponsored by Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).

Fans Didn’t Like Hunter Leaving, but Allison Stepped Up

Hunter King had her time & place on Young & the Restless portraying Summer Newman, but Super Girl has grown up & Allison Lanier is dominating. We at soapoperamagazine.com wish both of these fabulous actresses nothing but success as they move forward in their careers on &/or off of the Young & the Restless set.
