ADAM CRACKS OPEN IN THIS YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS RECAP
TL;DR: This Young and the Restless Recap catches Adam Newman unraveling in front of Chelsea Lawson before Billy Abbott surprises him with a gesture of thanks. Sally Spectra packs her husband off toward London, Victor Newman grills his son about Matt Clark, and Victoria Newman texts “Boris” about meeting up in London.

Adam Unravels Before the Handshake
Adam Newman spent the morning learning that catching a friend’s newborn with your own two hands leaves a man with a mountain of feelings and absolutely no words for any of them. Chelsea Lawson took one look at his face and diagnosed him as not okay, a medical opinion that required zero training. He mumbled that the night before had been heavy, and he left it there like a man handing over a receipt.
Chelsea does not accept receipts. She marched him downstairs to the lounge, then demanded the full inventory, and what she got was a rapid-fire list of emotion words, delivered with the enthusiasm of a hostage reading a statement. Then he apologized for dragging her into it, and his eyes went wet, and he looked mortified about that too. A Newman who can negotiate with anyone was undone by his own feelings in a hotel lounge.
The real confession came once he sat down at the bar. All through the delivery, he had chanted at himself to get every step right, because he refused to let another woman lose a baby with him in the room. Chelsea reminded him that the little girl arrived healthy and that Sally had to be grateful. He was glad it turned out well, he said, but when that baby was in his arms, he felt pure joy for a moment, and then Ava came rushing back. That is the sort of grief that no list of words can hold.
Chelsea asked what she could do, and he said listening had already done it. Then he wished he could visit the new mother and her daughter, and Chelsea backed the idea instead of bristling, which is a level of grace she did not always have in her. She figured Billy might soften, since a healthy baby has to count for something, and Adam asked her to tag along for moral support.
So the pair turned up at the newlyweds’ door with a tiny outfit from the club, and Billy Abbott took a step back and winced. Everyone braced for a scene. Instead, Billy walked straight over, took Adam’s hand, and thanked him with total sincerity. Adam looked like a man who had been handed a live grenade only to find a bouquet taped to it. When Sally Spectra told the room that Jill’s survival was in doubt, both visitors offered their sympathy, and after one more thank-you from Sally, they headed out. Billy later admitted what he could not argue with: nobody gets to stay furious at the man who helped bring his kid into this world. In the long and ugly Abbott and Newman feud, that handshake was the closest thing to a Geneva Convention anyone has seen.

Sally Packs Billy’s Bag
Before the visitors ever rang the bell, Sally had already handled her first big marital negotiation as a mother. She and Billy carried baby Ruby through the door feeling lucky, and Sally sighed that they finally owned every single thing they ever dreamed of. Fate heard that and started cracking its knuckles.
Sally knew her husband well enough to spot the cloud on his face, and she insisted he explain the phone call. Out it came: Jill Abbott had suffered a heart attack, with Snapper delivering the news as the reception kicked off, and Cane Ashby was already headed for London. Billy hedged, saying Cane would scout the situation first. Sally was having none of it. She sent him upstairs to pack, with the authority of a woman who had worn the wedding ring for about three days.
Billy hated the thought of missing a minute with his daughter. Sally pointed out that this could be his final chance to see his mother, and that arriving with news of a granddaughter in his pocket could give them both some peace. Whatever came next, she said, she would stay by his side in sunshine and storms.
Then she took a breath and told him the story he had been dreading. Adam had stopped in to offer congratulations in private and was heading out the door when the contractions turned serious. He tried to reach Billy, but the bride’s phone had been confiscated by Audra Charles, and Billy never picked up. Sally tearfully admitted that she begged Adam to stay with her instead of leaving to find Billy, and that his steadiness got her through. She asked her husband to forget whose hands those were, and Billy, to his credit, did not scream. He was thankful someone competent had been in the room and sore that it was not him.

Victor Grills Nick About Matt
Out at the ranch, Victor Newman was still gripping the phone after a call with Snapper when Nick Newman strolled in. Victor delivered the grim update about Jill with a heavy brow. He had clashed with her for decades, yet he had never stopped respecting her. Nick offered a gentle reminder that Jill had survived as many scares as Victor himself, and Victor was still standing, which is comfort in the Newman style: a pep talk delivered like a business forecast.
Then the talk turned darker. Nick explained that he had found Matt Clark at Sharon Newman’s cottage, with the old, frightening version appearing to resurface. Sharon was scared stiff, and Matt crumbled, pleading with her to take him on as her patient. Victor couldn’t tell whether he was watching a collapse or a performance, but he knew a menace when he heard one and wanted a private chat with him.
Nick then revealed that Matt had signed himself in at a psychiatric unit, with Nick behind the wheel. Victor’s whole worldview wobbled, because a man volunteering for care does not compute in his universe. He demanded an account of whatever Nick had done. Nick swore the situation was locked down, but Victor fretted that Matt could simply stroll out again, and Nick could go overboard shielding the clan.

Victoria Keeps Her Secrets Close
Over quiche, Victoria Newman brought Nikki Newman up to speed on the wedding and the surprise delivery, and Nikki’s jaw dropped. She guessed that Billy had not exactly thrown a parade over it. Both women softened for Adam, who had brought a baby girl into the world not long after losing his own.
Nikki asked how it felt to watch an ex marry and start a family with someone new. Victoria answered with calm. That chapter belonged to a different life, and each of them had since moved forward. She told her mother that Sally was a wonderful match for Billy, then mentioned Cole, a reminder of how much she was still carrying. Nikki hoped Billy would not wreck it again. When she scrolled through the photos of little Ruby, she gently acknowledged that her daughter was grieving Cole and wished her happiness. Victoria said she was content already, and tacked on a soft someday.
Victor arrived with a worried face about Jill, and Nikki said Lauren Fenmore was boarding a flight and that she refused to believe it was Jill’s time. Victoria noted that somebody ought to alert Esther Valentine. Victor, meanwhile, told his daughter to hop on a plane to London to close a deal. Learning about the baby and Adam’s starring role left him stunned.
Once Victoria left, Victor beamed to Nikki that their daughter had gotten her act together after nearly missing a meeting earlier in the week. Out on the sidewalk, Victoria typed a message to “Boris,” asking to meet in London. Victor’s pride in her focus lasted all of ninety seconds.

Genoa City Gets Emotional Luggage
One man could not name his feelings until a woman marched him to a bar stool, and then his grief for a lost daughter nearly spilled over, only to be met by the unlikeliest act of kindness from the groom. A new mother ordered her husband to pack for a trip that may end in a goodbye. A family patriarch cross-examined his son about a man now getting care. And a daughter, fresh off her father’s praise, wrote to someone named “Boris” about a London plan. Few towns pack this much baggage into one Thursday, and the airlines are going to make a fortune off the Young and the Restless cast.
