ADAM NEWMAN CAN’T STAY AWAY FROM SALLY AND BABY RUBY, AND CHELSEA LAWSON IS HOLDING THE DOOR OPEN

TL;DR: Young and the Restless spoilers: since delivering baby Ruby, Adam Newman can’t seem to stay away from Sally Spectra, and his romance with Chelsea Lawson could pay the price. Is it doomed? Not yet, but Chelsea is the one backing his visit, and Victor’s advice is coming Friday.

Since Delivering Ruby, Adam Can’t Stay Away From Sally

Adam Newman delivered Sally Spectra‘s baby girl on Tuesday’s Young and the Restless, and two days later he still can’t stay away. In Thursday’s episode, which aired Wednesday in Canada, he admits he wants to see Sally and baby Ruby again, even though he doesn’t want to cause problems with Billy Abbott or with Chelsea Lawson. Every one of our Young and the Restless spoilers for the next two weeks runs through that visit. So is Adam’s Sally obsession threatening Chelsea, and is their romance doomed?

Not yet, and here’s the twist: Chelsea is the one holding the door open. She drags him to the Athletic Club lounge to talk, backs his wish to see Sally and the baby, and was happy to wait for baby pictures until Adam asked her to come along. The two of them show up at Sally and Billy’s with an Athletic Club outfit for Ruby, and Chelsea even offers to babysit.

Billy Shakes Adam’s Hand Before He Leaves for London

The visit goes better than anyone could have guessed after Billy banned Adam from the wedding in September. Billy thanks Adam for being there for Sally and Ruby, shakes his hand, and admits he can hardly be mad at the man who delivered his daughter. Then he steps aside and cringes. Sally has already told him he has to go to London to be with his mother after her heart attack, and Jason Thompson, who plays Billy, has said Billy leaves “the next morning.”

That leaves Adam Newman in Genoa City while Sally’s husband heads out of town. He tells Chelsea that holding the baby filled him with joy until he thought of Ava, the daughter he and Sally lost in 2023. On Wednesday’s episode, he even paused at the door and looked back up the stairs before leaving the hotel. Thompson put it plainly: “Adam does everything he can to stay in the picture,” and “Billy just wants Adam to go away, but he continues to show up.”

Chelsea Lawson Keeps Opening the Door Herself

This is the part that should scare Chelsea’s fans. In July 2026, she was the one who decided she and Adam had to stop Victor Newman from hurting Sally and Billy. On September 9, after Sally’s scare, she told Adam his feelings were more than sympathy: “It’s more than that and it’s okay to admit it.” On October 2, she watched from a distance as Sally put Adam’s hand on her belly to feel the baby kick. Now she is walking him back to Sally’s door with a gift in her hands.

She knows exactly how this story goes, because she lived it from the other side. In April 2012, Adam delivered Chelsea’s son in a cabin, and they were married by that July. And in July 2024, it was Chelsea’s night with Adam in Baltimore that ended his romance with Sally two months later.

Are Adam and Chelsea Breaking Up on Young and the Restless?

Nothing that has aired or been announced says they are. Adam and Chelsea have split seven times since 2012, and Sharon Newman was behind several of those breakups. Sally? Never once.

That is exactly why a split over Sally would be new ground for this show. Outgoing head writer Josh Griffith asked back on May 26, “at what point does it start to create a rift between Chelsea and Adam?” He also said, “He’s not romantically pining for her. He’s profoundly in love with Chelsea.” New head writers take over on Wednesday, November 11, and we’ve already asked whether the delivery could put Adam and Sally back together.

Victor’s Friday Advice Could Cut Either Way

CBS says “Victor gives Adam much-needed advice” on Friday, October 23, and that is all anyone official has said. If Victor tells Adam to stay away from Sally, will Adam even listen? Don’t be surprised if he doesn’t. And Victor is no fan of Chelsea Lawson these days: in July, he complained that Chelsea had too much control over Adam.

So if Friday’s advice is to hold on to Chelsea, that is a turnaround worth watching. If it isn’t, Chelsea has no ally at the ranch, and Billy is about to leave the country.

Is Chelsea’s trust about to cost her Adam? Make your case in the comments.

Chelsea Is Holding the Door Open, and That Is the Real Danger

Adam isn’t sneaking around. He’s asking permission, and Chelsea Lawson keeps saying yes. That is what makes this so dangerous: she trusts him with Sally, and Adam has never been good at keeping his heart where it belongs. My prediction: Chelsea’s yes is the crack, and by the time the new writers arrive in November, she’ll wish she had said no.
