The Young and the Restless
Young and the Restless Recap September 16, 2026: Nate Hastings Finally Gets Lucky With a Woman Who’s Already Packing Her Bags
This Young and the Restless Recap catches Nate finally hooking up with Stephanie, Billy and Sally torching dinner, and Victoria and Kyle risking it again.
THIS YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS RECAP HAS NATE HASTINGS AND STEPHANIE SIMMONS FINALLY GIVING IN AS VICTORIA NEWMAN AND KYLE ABBOTT KEEP PLAYING WITH FIRE
TL;DR: This Young and the Restless Recap catches Nate Hastings and Stephanie Simmons finally stopping the dance and ending up in bed together despite her looming exit from Genoa City, Billy Abbott and Sally Spectra torching a homemade pizza and their clothes in the same evening, and Victoria Newman and Kyle Abbott sneaking in another round at the Riverbank Motel while Claire Newman nearly catches her sister red-handed.
Nate Hastings Finally Catches a Break, Sort Of
Nate Hastings is one bandaged hand away from losing his mind, so when Stephanie Simmons shows up, he’s fully prepared to settle for board games and takeout. She warns him she plays to win, he warns her his fingers can barely dial a burrito order, and somehow that combination works, because within minutes they’re laughing over guacamole like two people who’ve forgotten how stressful their actual lives are.
Then it gets sincere. Stephanie confesses a story from her childhood about a bird she nearly killed by accident, and instead of running for the hills, Nate decides this is the moment he likes her even more. A song comes on, she drags him up to dance, and by the time he spins her around, he’s telling her flat out that this feels real. It ends the way you’d expect, in his bedroom, with Stephanie voicing the one worry that actually makes sense here: her grown son might have feelings about this.
Here’s the part that stings, and this Young and the Restless Recap can’t ignore it: Nate finally, FINALLY gets the girl, and the girl already has a foot out the door. Vivica A. Fox is exiting the role again soon, which means Genoa City just handed this man a genuine connection with an expiration date stapled to it. The universe really said “let him have this, but only briefly.”

Billy Abbott and Sally Spectra Burn Down the Kitchen (and Then Some)
Over at Billy Abbott and Sally Spectra‘s place, Billy is knee-deep in flour attempting a pizza he clearly should not be attempting, and Sally is doing nothing to hide how funny she finds this. He needs her actual baking skills to save the dough, she refuses to let him quit, and somewhere between the honey and the crust this stops being about pizza entirely.
They abandon the kitchen for the bedroom, and when they finally resurface, the oven has fully claimed their dinner as a casualty. Delivery gets called, a book gets pulled out, and nobody in that apartment seems particularly upset about how the evening actually went.
Victoria Newman and Kyle Abbott Are Still Not Done With Each Other
Meanwhile, at the Riverbank Motel, Kyle Abbott walks into total darkness and gets one word out of Victoria Newmanbefore she’s already running the whole show: don’t. Blindfolds, ice cubes, and zero patience later, Kyle takes the reins back, and afterward the two of them try to talk logistics like adults, joking their way through what amounts to ground rules for whatever this arrangement actually is.
Victoria wonders out loud if anyone will ever catch on to what they’re doing, and rather than answer that question honestly, they just agree to keep meeting there and leaving separately, which is not exactly a foolproof plan. Back at Crimson Lights, Esther Valentine tops off Kyle’s drink and assumes his glow is Claire’s doing. He shuts that down fast and fires off a text promising Victoria he’s calling the shots next time.
Across town at the Tack House, Claire Newman catches Victoria blushing at her phone mid-pizza and gets waved off with a claim about a funny GIF. Claire has no idea how close she just came to blowing this whole thing wide open, and given how this show works, it’s only a matter of time before somebody does.

Genoa City Really Said “Happiness, But Make It Temporary”
Between Nate falling for someone already halfway out of town, Billy and Sally somehow making pizza night romantic, and Victoria and Kyle drawing up rules for a fling they both know is spiraling, nobody in this episode learned a single lesson. Every couple here is playing with fire in their own special way.
