Matt Clark Shows Up Out of Nowhere to Say Goodbye to Everyone
Phyllis Summers shows up at the Riverbank Motel convinced Patty Williams seduces Matt Clark into vanishing on her again. Instead she finds a letter explaining he is not running from her at all, only from what his own good intentions keep causing.
Matt Clark writes that his heroic streak is the exact reason Patty refuses to leave Genoa City, so he decides going with her himself is the only way to actually protect everyone. He tells Phyllis he loves that she sees the good in him, but insists the bad still outweighs it and begs her to forget him and live her life.
Later at Crimson Lights, while Nick Newman catches up with Sharon Newman, Matt Clark suddenly appears out of nowhere and stuns them both. He announces he means it this time, apologizes for everything he has put them through, and tells them they never need to think about him again, right as this stretch of Young and the Restless spoilers takes its most dramatic turn yet. Phyllis walks in on the goodbye before anyone can say another word.

Jack Abbott and Diane Jenkins Get a Present From Patty
At the Abbott mansion, Jack Abbott and Diane Jenkins return home furious their trap does not work, only to find a mysterious gift box waiting on the dining table. Security clears it before they open the attached note, which has Patty insisting she is leaving town for their sake, though the wording reads more like a threat to Diane.
Phyllis bursts in moments later demanding they team up to track down Patty and the friend under her spell, not realizing Jack and Diane already suspect exactly who that friend is. Once Phyllis leaves, they finally open the box itself, only to find Patty’s stray cat staring back at them, and this whole saga according to the latest reporting prompts Diane’s blunt verdict that the woman is completely unhinged.
Nick Newman Comes Home to a Family Divided
At the Newman Ranch, Nick Newman arrives fresh out of rehab and reassures Nikki Newman and Victor Newman he is ready to rebuild his life, work included. His mother worries privately that rehab’s structure makes the real world seem easier than it will actually be.
At the Tack House, Nick convinces Victoria Newman to let him ease back into work, crediting Marie Kirkland’s tough love for finally teaching him to own his own choices. Victoria agrees, though she admits to her parents afterward that she still worries it might be too soon, even as Adam Newman and the rest of the family choose to support Nick’s comeback anyway.
