Sally Spectra Gets a Grand Entrance, Complete With Curtains

This Y&R Canadian Day-Ahead ends where every soap fantasy does, at the aisle. The guests take their places, the bridesmaids walk in one at a time (nothing builds suspense like a staggered entrance), and a light comes up at the back of the room. The curtains part, and there stands Sally Spectra, glowing and a long way from the carny lot. Billy Abbott, a man with plenty of practice at this, is about to find out whether it makes perfect.

Everything that got her there is below, and the Friday preview promises twists, so nobody should get comfortable in their seat.

Ashley Abbott Reads the Fine Print at the Ladies’ Table

At the Abbott estate, Traci Abbott joins the other ladies, and Abby Newman explains that Devon Winters is on daddy duty and will miss the wedding, which is one way to dodge a reception. Then Abby wonders aloud if her mom is having second thoughts.

Ashley Abbott swears she isn’t against the marriage. It’s only that the family has been through so much, and everyone wants Billy to be happy, which Sally seems to do. Then comes the “but.” Ashley worries about what happens if it all implodes and reminds the room that Sally was a schemer, with the Forresters to prove it. Diane Jenkins is sure Ashley will come around, since Diane, after all, is still there.

Ashley promises not to be the bad guy. She sees red flags but is trying to think positive thoughts, like a woman waving a flag and a pom-pom at the same time.

Pietro Arrives in Pink, and Billy Feels Invincible

At the GCAC, Pietro, naturally in pink, panics because Billy isn’t dressed yet. Billy swears his suit is pressed and ready, so Pietro hauls him downstairs to show off how the club has been made over. Jack Abbott and Kyle Abbottarrive, and Billy announces that he feels invincible. For a man with his track record, that is exactly the sentence that makes a soap fan reach for a throw pillow.

Adam Newman Crashes the Prep, and Everyone Has Notes

Chelsea Lawson joins Adam Newman in the ballroom, and he squeezes in a dig about Billy before anyone has finished saying hello. Lauren Fenmore, Michael Baldwin, Lily Winters, and Cane Ashby arrive, surprised to find Adam there. Billy pops up, followed by Victoria Newman and the kids, then dashes upstairs to change.

Michael, Lauren, and Victoria chat about the kids and about Jill Abbott skipping the wedding. Victoria then strolls over to Adam and muses about his presence, and he hands all the credit to Chelsea. They move on to Nick Newman and how tightly wound he is, and agree to stay as close as he will let them, which is roughly the length of a very short leash.

Cane Ashby Tries to Rig the Bouquet Toss

Cane promises to keep Lily distracted and every day fun, and he means it. He also corners Victoria and asks her to take a dive when the bouquet is thrown, because he is trying to narrow the odds. Lily warns him they are nowhere near bouquet catching, proving that nothing says romance like attempted fraud at a wedding.

Lauren and Michael chat about Sally, and Lauren can see how much she has grown. Jack and Kyle swap notes on a stomach bug keeping a certain little Abbott at home. Then Kyle sidles over to Victoria, assumes they won’t be getting together tonight now that the kids are back, and congratulates her on looking great at her ex’s wedding. She hopes things work out for Billy this time. Quite a multitasker, our Victoria. When the Abbott ladies arrive, Traci checks on Lily and Cane, and Cane thanks her for getting Lily to open up to him. If Lily needs his strength, he says, she has it.

Young and the Restless Canadian Day Ahead (Y&R Canadian Day Ahead) Chelsea Newman, Audra Charles, Sally Spectra

Audra Charles Hides Sally’s Phone and Takes Charge

In her suite, Coco Spectra finishes Sally’s makeup. “We’ve come a long way since our carny days,” Sally says, and she has never been so happy in her life. Audra Charles and Chelsea arrive with the dress and promise she will be the most beautiful bride ever. They go over her list of something borrowed, blue, old, and new, and Audra orders everyone to focus and hides Sally’s phone, a move that should be taught in bridal school.

Audra chases everyone else out, and Sally thanks her for all she has done. Chelsea and Coco have been amazing, Sally says, but Audra has been perfect. She has never had a best friend before, she loves Audra, and she wants to be there for her forever. They hug, and Audra loves her too, which is quite the glow-up for a woman who spent part of last week bickering with Chelsea over dessert.

Sally ducks into the bathroom as Billy drops off a note for his bride, asking Audra not to let her open it until she’s ready to go downstairs. After he leaves, Audra asks Chelsea if they should be concerned and peek inside. Chelsea is sure Billy is a hopeless romantic. Audra’s main worry is that it will make the bride weep and ruin the makeup, which tells you everything about her priorities. Sally comes out, and they hand her the envelope.

Kyle and Victoria Make Eyes While Sally Reads Her Note

Billy returns to the guests after changing and tells his kids how much he loves them. Jack hugs his brother, and across the room, Kyle and Victoria make eyes at each other like two people who have mastered the art of staring without being noticed (they have not).

In the bridal suite, Katie Abbott pops in and chats with the ladies, glad that Sally will be joining the family. Pietro sends a text to get into gear. Left alone at last, Sally reads Billy’s note and smiles. We would love to tell you what it says, but a grin like that suggests Billy wrote something he can’t take back.

Young and the Restless Canadian Day Ahead (Y&R Canadian Day Ahead) Sharon Newman, Nick Newman, Matt Clark

Matt Clark Wakes Up on Sharon Newman’s Couch With a Request

At the cottage, Sharon Newman and Nick come downstairs to find Matt Clark still sleeping on the couch, like the world’s most unwelcome houseguest. Sharon has already called the clinic she thinks he should go to, and Nick plans to make sure he goes. They have to see which Matt wakes up and deal with it, and Nick wishes he had ended this. Both can see Matt is at war with himself, which at least means the bad side is still in there.

Matt sits up and apologizes for all the drama. He really did want to die, he says, but Sharon gave him hope that he could be normal. If they want him out of their lives, he needs help in a safe place, but he wants Sharon to be his therapist. Nick calls that twisted and reminds him how long Matt terrorized them. Nick wants to throw him out. Sharon explains she has arranged for Matt to be admitted, and once that happens they can discuss whether her helping is even workable. Matt says turning him down is a deal-breaker, and when Nick thinks he’s nuts, Matt steps away, repeating that this is the only way.

“Sharon, no,” Nick insists. She says she knows her own mind and Matt’s games. There is a chance he could be healed, and that could bring them all peace. Nick thinks it’s a terrible idea, and for once nobody in the room can argue with the word terrible. Matt returns and asks if a decision has been made. She agrees, but warns him that she might not be able to help, and if that’s the case he must accept another therapist. He agrees.
