NICK’S HOSPITAL VISIT STIRS TROUBLE IN THIS Y&R CANADIAN DAY-AHEAD
TL;DR: This Y&R Canadian Day-Ahead finds Nick Newman at Marie Kirkland’s hospital bedside, Nikki Newman demanding details about the dealer, Phyllis Summers claiming a view of Victor Newman’s office, and Matt Clark waking up alone. Want the bigger picture? Our Y&R spoilers for the next two weeks have it all.

Nikki Newman Would Like to Be More Specific
This Y&R Canadian Day-Ahead opens with a mother doing the world’s most nerve-racking math. Nikki Newman finds Nick Newman at Crimson Lights, wants to know why he’s ignoring her messages, and goes straight for the jugular: did he beat up the dealer, and does he have the answers the police are after? Nick says he did what he could and the rest is up to the cops. Nikki translates that into the only question that matters, which is whether he beat the man to death.
Nick repeats that he didn’t kill the guy. Nikki needs him to be more specific. The guy took off, he says, and the cop showed up late. She reminds him that people can always find a way to get drugs and alcohol, which is meant as comfort and lands as a warning. Meanwhile, Nick is stewing over a flashback to emptying the dealer’s pockets and leaving him in that alley, so “he took off” is skipping a few chapters. Nikki suggests a meeting, Nick says it would only annoy him, and she orders him to hang on. Full disclosure was clearly not on the menu.
Is Nick telling his family the whole truth about that alley? Email your theories to amber@soapoperamagazine.com. We love a good conspiracy.

Sharon Newman Redecorates Everything But Her Feelings
Over at the cottage, Mariah Copeland is amazed by how Sharon Newman has redecorated and declares it a showcase for her spirit. Sharon says she needed a haven now that she’s alone, and Mariah, who has never met a pause she didn’t want to examine, guesses there’s more going on. There is. Sharon is worried Nick could spin out now that Marie Kirkland has overdosed again.
Mariah gently reminds her mother that Nick’s behavior is not something she can control and worrying won’t keep him safe. Then she suggests Sharon has started to love him the way she used to. Sharon swears they left that behind and it only hurts her heart to see him in pain, which is the kind of denial you could hang a throw pillow on. Mariah steers her toward leaning on Nikki so the two can bond over Nick.
Sharon calls Nikki over, and Nikki admires the redesign, chats with Mariah, and waits for her to leave before the real conversation starts. Nick isn’t in a good place, she says, and they’ve both noticed his volatile body language. She fills Sharon in on his attack on the dealer, and Sharon is stunned he ignored both her and Adam Newman. Then Nikki drops the kicker: the dealer is now missing. Two women, one terrifying thought, which is that Nick could be using again. Nothing says cozy cottage like a panic summit.

Lily Winters’ Secret Has a Guest List (Cane Ashby Isn’t On It)
At Society, Cane Ashby asks Devon Winters whether Lily Winters is okay. Devon says she is, and it’s her business to tell him what’s going on. Cane is rattled by how close Devon is to cordial, and Devon promises there won’t be a problem as long as Cane keeps Lily smiling. A man who has built a lifestyle around bracing for Winters hostility has no idea what to do with a ceasefire.
Over at the Chancellor Park Cafรฉ, Lily and Nate Hastings swap notes on waiting for her test results, and she’s surprised to learn Devon thinks she should tell Cane. Nate promises to stay at Winters if they need him. Stephanie Simmons joins them, slips off to order a drink, and returns just as Devon walks in. Everyone reminds Nate his bandages need to come off, and they’ll all be here when he gets back.
The second he’s gone, Lily and Devon turn on Stephanie like a pair of cousin-shaped prosecutors and ask if she’s seeing their cousin. She reluctantly admits it. It’s all new, they think that’s fun, and they say she’s been a good influence on him. Stephanie insists it’s not some big romance, though she’s relieved they’re on board. Holden Novak will be trickier, since she’s never had a long-term relationship and her son has never met a single man she dated. Then Nate returns, shows off his unbandaged hands, says he feels great, and Stephanie takes one of them. Those hands have a very full calendar.
Phyllis Summers Gets a Window Seat Into Victor’s Office
Victor Newman is parked at the GCAC, urging Nikki over the phone not to worry about their son, when Phyllis Summers pops up to announce she owns the building now. Then, for dessert, she adds that she owns the one across from Newman Tower too and can look straight into his office. “Wow…really bravo,” Victor grumbles, which is about as close to a standing ovation as a Newman gets. Phyllis hoped for a bigger reaction, so she brags that she’s doing very, very well. “Who would have thunk it?” Victor asks, wondering whether anyone has been less supportive. Her kids, she admits, and they move on to Nick.
Cane wanders in, and Victor can’t resist taunting him about losing to Phyllis again. Cane isn’t interested in victors and vanquished: he has a fatter bank account and fewer worries. Victor fires back that Cane wanted to be the big mucker and is now taking handouts. Cane decides a drink is a better use of his time and walks off, and Phyllis follows. He warns her that Victor is stroking her ego so he can stab her in the back. She mocks the risk, because her whole life is a risk, and asks what’s wrong with him and whether he’s lost his edge. Cane thinks she’s desperate for approval and Victor will use that against her. Phyllis assures him she’s got this. Famous last words, usually spoken seconds before Victor smiles.

Matt Clark Wakes Up Without His Plus-One
Inside the crashed car, Matt Clark comes to and notices that Patty Williams is gone. As he tries to clean his wound, his eyes narrow, and he climbs out of the wreck. After all that talk about the good in her, the road trip appears to have ended with an empty passenger seat and a man rethinking his thesis.
Nick Newman Visits Marie and Brings a Souvenir Home
Nick sits at Marie’s bedside and starts with an apology. They only had minutes together, he says, but they were intense and meaningful, and he wishes he’d never left her alone with her husband. He wants to know why she told him she was going to see her family, and whether that was really what she wanted. Then he drops the line of the day: he made sure the dealer will never sell to anyone again. It’s a sentence that begs for a follow-up question, and nobody in that room is asking one.
Later, Nick strolls back into Crimson Lights with a pocketful of pills. His mother told him to hang on, everyone who loves him spent days fearing the worst, and viewers will remember exactly whose pockets he went through in that alley. Hang on to what, exactly, is now the question.

Tuesday Is Hiding Something in Its Pockets
Between a mother demanding details, a cottage that doubles as a worry summit, a very polite ceasefire, a building with a view straight into Newman Tower, an empty passenger seat, and a hospital confession that sounds a lot like a threat, Tuesday is serving drama in bulk. Nobody in Genoa City knows what Nick is carrying yet.
