The Fall of CEOs Without Credibility on Y&R

The Fall of CEOs Without Credibility, Back From the Dead & GC’s Infamous Stripper

Ongoing on Young & the Restless, the fall of female CEOs without credibility is the focus of all Y&R fans who are fast-forwarding through Connor Newman’s ongoing struggle with OCD. Head-to-head CEOs in Genoa City are back-from-the-dead Diane Jenkins & stripper-turned-intermittent-drunk Nikki Newman. This isn’t the first time Diane & Nikki have been competitors. Let’s unpack how this battle might shake out on Y&R…

Back-from-the-Dead to Abbott Co-CEO of Jabot on Y&R

How? Ask Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) on Young & the Restless. She was dead, like really dead & not even being played by Susan Walters at the time. Yet somehow, Diane Jenkins is back from the dead played again by Susan Walters.

No one was buying Diane being back from the dead & also reformed until Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) & his son Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) formed their version of Dumb & Dumber. Then in record time, Kyle Abbott forgave his mother Diane without even attempting a game of 20 questions & shortly thereafter Jack & Diane got remarried. It took maybe 10 more minutes after that for Diane to find herself an executive position at Jabot & not long after that she was named Co-CEO of Jabot alongside Jack Abbott.

Jack & Diane’s son Kyle Abbott signed off on Diane’s latest promotion & has regretted it every single day ever since & has been doing everything in his power to put his parents through a version of family hell inside & outside the home that they have never seen before. Now it’s been revealed that Kyle Abbott has committed corporate theft & can/should be prosecuted. However, will his parents follow through? Diane Jenkins will be on board as she hasn’t changed. She rose from the dead with an agenda & that was to take over Jabot & from the Abbott Family. Too bad Diane being an Abbott is always temporary. Jack Abbott can if wants anytime kick her to the curb & send her back to L.A. to get her out of Kyle’s way.

GC’s Retired Stripper/Intermittent Alcoholic & CEO

As for Nikki Newman, she’s never faked her death, but she’s faked being sober to be a CEO. Almost her entire CEO reign at Newman Media was under the influence. Now she’s just a signature away from being named CEO of Chancellor Industries after her husband Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) acquires it like he did his wife Nikki while she was working as a stripper all of those years ago.

Yes, until the last 10-15 so years of the 50 years of Young & the Restless, Nikki Newman can be remembered as Genoa City’s favorite stripper winning over The Almighty Victor Newman, an event planner extraordinaire, & a nemesis of a variety of women in GC including Diane Jenkins. For a short period of time back in the day, Nikki & Diane switched off fighting over Victor & Jack like… Well, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) & Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) fighting over Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) & Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) right now on Y&R.

Education & Executive Experience: Women with It on Y&R

Seriously, there is a list of ladies who have far more credibility to be a CEO in Genoa City on Young & the Restless…

  • Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway)

The daughter of Victor Newman & Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson). Despite having Genoa City’s most favorite last names, she’s actually had to work her way up & doesn’t ride on either of her last names. She runs her own restaurant in Genoa City but has worked for both Newman Enterprises & Jabot & has corporate experience.

  • Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman)

This woman can do anything & nothing can stop her except for the writers of Young & the Restless. In fact, she ran Newman Media on behalf of Nikki Newman when Nikki couldn’t cover up her ride off the wagon any longer meanwhile running Fenmore’s. This woman has a ton of experience & can manage people with results.

  • Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson)

Ok, so not right now, but if she could have before & now hopefully after she’s released from her in-patient treatment after suffering a mental breakdown with multiple personalities. She’s intelligent, respected, & has so much experience. She & Victor Newman have a deep connection still after all of these years so he could easily pull naming her CEO of anything underneath the Newman umbrella. On the flip-flop, the late Katherine Chancellor wouldn’t roll over once in her grave if Ashley Abbott were appointed to run her company.

Top 5 Takeaways

  1. Diane Jenkins has risen from the dead to become Co-CEO of Jabot.
  2. Nikki Newman, former stripper, is poised to become CEO of Chancellor Industries.
  3. Kyle Abbott regrets supporting his mother’s promotion and has committed corporate theft.
  4. Abby Newman, Lauren Fenmore, and Ashley Abbott are seen as more qualified CEO candidates.
  5. The credibility of Genoa City’s current female CEOs is being questioned by Y&R fans.
