NICK NEWMAN AND THE NEWMANS PLAY THE VICTIM CARD WHILE VICTOR NEWMAN SCHEMES TO USE LILY WINTERS AS A HOSTAGE

TL;DR: The Newmans are complaining about being mistreated on The Young and the Restless while Victor Newman actively plots to use Lily Winters and her twins as leverage against Cane Ashby. The hypocrisy is staggering.

The Newmans Want Sympathy While Planning Something Sinister

The audacity on display in Genoa City right now is absolutely breathtaking. Nick Newman and Victoria Newman have spent recent episodes moaning about how Cane Ashby and Phyllis Summers are treating the family unfairly. They have positioned themselves as victims of a corporate assault. They want everyone to feel sorry for them.

Here is the problem. While Nick lectures Phyllis about her terrible choices and Victoria fumes about being sidelined, their father Victor Newman is orchestrating something far more sinister in the background.

Victor has ordered Adam Newman to track down Lily Winters and her twins Charlie Ashby and Mattie Ashby. The goal? Use them as leverage against Cane. Make him believe his family is in danger so he will come back to the bargaining table.

Adam himself admitted this plan is essentially using Lily and the kids as pawns. He looked visibly uncomfortable when explaining the scheme to Chelsea Lawson. And what did Chelsea do? She went straight to Nikki Newman and revealed the whole thing.

Nikki’s response was not horror. It was not moral outrage. She supported the plan. She even suggested making Lily complicit in the scheme so it would work better. Let that sink in.

Nick Newman Confronts Phyllis While Ignoring His Father’s Crimes

Nick Newman stood in front of Phyllis Summers and told her she was about to lose everyone who cares about her. He warned her that Summer Newman would cut her off completely. He presented himself as the voice of reason and morality.

But where is that moral clarity when it comes to his own family?

Nick knows what his father is capable of. He has watched Victor manipulate and destroy people for decades. Yet when Victor Newman plots to terrorize Lily Winters and her children, Nick says nothing. He looks the other way. He continues playing the wounded party.

The same Nick Newman who once created Dark Horse specifically to destroy Newman Enterprises. The same Nick who wore a prosthetic mask of J.T. Hellstrom to gaslight his own family. That Nick is now clutching his pearls about Cane and Phyllis being aggressive in business?

The disconnect is staggering.

Victoria Newman Is Mad She Was Excluded From the Kidnapping Plan

Victoria Newman is furious right now. But not for the reasons you might expect.

She is not angry that her father is plotting to use innocent people as hostages. She is angry that Victor included Adam in the secret planning while keeping her out of the loop.

Read that again. Victoria is upset she was not invited to participate in the scheme. The morality of terrorizing Lily and her twins does not seem to register. Only the insult of being excluded matters.

This is the same Victoria who has been complaining bitterly about how Cane Ashby is treating the Newman family. She wants sympathy for being under attack. Meanwhile her father is preparing to attack someone else’s family in a far more personal and dangerous way.

Sharon Newman Should Know Better

Sharon Newman has been right there alongside Nick, condemning Phyllis and supporting the Newman position. But Sharon of all people should understand what it feels like to have your children used against you.

Victor stole Faith Newman from her. She was separated from Mariah Copeland for years because of Ian Ward’s manipulation. Sharon knows the devastation of having her family weaponized.

Now she stands with the Newmans while Victor plots to do the same thing to Lily Winters. The betrayal of everything Sharon has experienced is difficult to watch.

The Parallel That Makes This Even Worse

At the exact same moment the Newmans are planning their scheme against Lily, another kidnapping is tearing the family apart. Mariah took Dominic Chancellor under Ian Ward’s influence. Abby Newman and Devon Hamilton are desperate to find their son.

The Newmans have called Ian Ward monstrous for manipulating Mariah into taking Dominic. They view that kidnapping with appropriate horror.

But when Victor Newman plots to make Cane believe his family is in danger? That is just strategy. That is business. That is acceptable.

Two patriarchs using families as weapons. Two schemes treating children as pawns. Only one is considered evil.

The double standard could not be more glaring.
