Somebody needs to sit Ridge Forrester down and explain that you cannot fix every problem in your life with money and intimidation. But here we are.

After catching Taylor Hayes and Deacon Sharpe locked in a passionate kiss on Bold and the Beautiful, Ridge completely lost it. He stormed in, demanded Deacon walk away from Taylor forever, and basically appointed himself the gatekeeper of her entire love life. The problem? Taylor wasn’t having any of it. She fired back, called him out for his hypocrisy, and told him flat out that Deacon makes her feel chosen for the first time in her life.

That had to sting.

So what does a man like Ridge do when guilt trips and threats fall flat? According to Soap Opera Spy, he might actually try to pay Deacon off. Just pull out the checkbook and make the whole inconvenient romance disappear. Because apparently that is the kind of man we are dealing with now. No other credible spoiler outlets have confirmed this angle, so it remains firmly in rumor territory. But given Ridge’s long history of using power and money to bulldoze through problems, is anyone really surprised this theory is gaining traction?

The Hypocrisy Is Absolutely Staggering

Let’s really sit with this for a second. Ridge Forrester spent DECADES bouncing between Brooke Logan and Taylor. He picked Brooke over and over again while Taylor waited on the sidelines like some kind of emotional backup plan. He never fought this hard to keep Taylor when he actually had her. But now that Deacon has stepped in and given her the attention and devotion Ridge never could? Suddenly it is an emergency.

And the worst part is that Brooke has no idea how deep this obsession really goes. She thinks Ridge is just being a concerned ex-husband. She does not know he physically confronted Deacon, got rejected by Taylor to his face, and might now be cooking up a financial scheme to blow the whole relationship apart. When she finds out, and she WILL find out, the fallout is going to be absolutely catastrophic.

Brooke Won’t Just Be Angry. She’ll Be Questioning Everything.

Here is what makes this so dangerous for Ridge Forrester. It is not just that Brooke will be furious about a bribery attempt. It is what the bribery attempt reveals. A man who is fully committed to his so-called “destiny” does not spend this much energy trying to control who his ex-wife dates. Period. Brooke has lived through this cycle enough times to recognize the signs. Ridge says he is protecting his family, but his actions scream something very different.

And let’s not forget that Brooke herself was once involved with Deacon Sharpe. He is the father of her daughter Hope. For Ridge to treat Deacon like some worthless con man who can be bought off? That is personal on multiple levels.

Meanwhile, Sheila Carter is out here planning romantic surprises for a husband who is falling in love with another woman. When THAT bomb drops, Taylor will not just be dealing with Ridge’s meddling. She will be dealing with a jealous sociopath who has a history of shooting people when she feels betrayed. Ridge is not protecting Taylor from anything. He is making the entire situation exponentially more dangerous.

This Will Not End the Way Ridge Thinks

Could this bribery scheme actually work? Not a chance. Deacon owns Il Giardino. He has built a legitimate life for himself. He is not the desperate ex-con that Ridge Forrester still sees when he looks at him. Offering Deacon money would only insult Taylor further and prove every single thing she said about Ridge being a controlling hypocrite who cannot stand watching her be happy with someone else.

Don’t be surprised if this stunt pushes Taylor and Deacon even closer together. And don’t be surprised if Brooke starts wondering whether Bridge was ever really destiny at all, or just a habit Ridge falls back on when his other options run out.
