Marlena came for Rita with evidence. Rita’s fingerprints were found on the concert program tied to the Dominic clues, the same program Steve wanted dusted, and Marlena told her so. She pressed Rita about Stefano’s plans and the birth certificate that lists Marlena as Dominic’s mother.

Then EJ came back and heard the question nobody in that room wanted him to hear. Was Dominic her son with Stefano? Rita now has a very awkward conversation ahead of her.

Marlena almost skipped the day’s lighter business entirely. Julie stopped by to remind her about Chanel’s baby shower, and when Marlena hesitated, Julie talked her into going. Babies and friends, she promised, would lift her spirits.

Paulina Price threw Chanel DiMera a surprise shower. Lani Price roped Abe Carver into picking up the cake and flowers, since Theo was too sick to come. Abe swore he never got an invitation. Lani insisted Paulina had invited them both.

Julie Williams brought Grandma Alice’s donuts, and Sydney DiMera handed them out. Soon the whole room was laughing at nothing. Sydney said the last time she felt like this was pot brownies in Amsterdam.

Chanel ran to the kitchen and confirmed it: marijuana. Julie, it turns out, has been here before. Years ago JJ doctored Grandma Alice’s donuts, she said, “and we all got baked.” Somehow that made it funnier.

Paulina shared an update on her push to get Lani a pardon, and Abe told Chanel things might be changing, with his eyes on Paulina. Then Chanel called Johnny to ask where he was. His answer left her gasping.
