BEAU BOWDEN IS BEHIND THE BAR AT THE BROWN DOG

General Hospital has cast Beau Bowden as the new bartender at the Brown Dog, and the actor made it official with his own Instagram announcement. Here is a look at the man behind the bar, from his Hollywood commercial fame to the very messy night he has already worked.

Port Charles has a new face behind the bar, and Beau Bowden is the man pouring drinks at the Brown Dog on GH. He confirmed the gig himself, hedging a little about how long it lasts and attaching the nickname Red Flannel Guy to the role. The Brown Dog is where hospital staff, cops and anyone nursing a grudge end up sooner or later, so the new bartender has already worked one gloriously chaotic Friday night. For the moment the part is billed as plain old bartender, with no character name and no word on how many more episodes he will be wiping down the counter. Considering what gets said over that bar, he may already know more than the PCPD.

Meet The Man Behind The Bar

Beau Bowden is a Clarksburg, West Virginia native who studied acting at West Virginia University, which is excellent training for a job that mostly involves nodding while people confess to things.

Hollywood knows him best as Norm’s T-Bone Man, a role he has played in restaurant commercials for years, so he has already gone from selling steak to selling drinks.

Beau Bowden’s résumé also includes small parts in How I Met Your Mother, Big Love, Las Vegas and Wedding Crashers, all four uncredited, plus a producer credit on Dreammates: The Ballad of Jessi & Jess. After that run, a bar stool in Port Charles looks like prime real estate, though he has joked about hoping to dodge the elevator shaft that ended Joey Tribbiani’s soap career on Friends.

A Chaotic First Pour

The Friday, October 16 staff get-together shows exactly what he is signing up for. Britt Westbourne managed to clear the room, and with her rideshare account banned she had the bartender phone for a car while a stranger named Judesent a drink her way. Beau has since taken credit for introducing Britt to her mystery man, which makes him the only person in Port Charles with a matchmaking credit and a drink menu.

Last Call At The Brown Dog

Whatever Beau Bowden has in store behind that bar, Port Charles has handed him a front-row seat to its messiest regulars, and he gets to watch every disaster with a clear head.
