Beyond the Gates
Cady McClain and Jon Lindstrom Have Settled Their Divorce and Daytime’s Favorite Real Life Couple Is Officially Closing the Chapter
Cady McClain and Jon Lindstrom have settled their divorce. Both are currently starring on Beyond the Gates and Jon continues on GH.

CADY MCCLAIN AND JON LINDSTROM HAVE REACHED A SETTLEMENT
TL;DR: Beyond the Gates costars Cady McClain and Jon Lindstrom have finalized their divorce settlement after separating in December 2023. Both waived spousal support, divided their property, and are waiting on a judge to make it official. They are not just As the World Turns alumni. They are currently working together on Beyond the Gates and Jon continues his long run on General Hospital. Daytime’s favorite real life love story has reached its final page.
The Settlement Is Done
Cady McClain and Jon Lindstrom have reached a divorce settlement, officially closing a chapter that began on Valentine’s Day 2014 when they married and ended when they separated in December 2023. Court documents reveal that both parties waived their right to spousal support. McClain will keep her furniture, personal property, and all assets in her name. Lindstrom walks away with all property in his possession and his separate assets. They are now waiting on a judge to sign off and make it final. The couple did not have children together.
They announced their split publicly on April 27, 2024, through a joint statement that was as graceful as you would expect from two people who have spent their careers navigating complicated relationships on screen. They said their goals had been taking them in different directions and they had decided to end their marriage. No drama. No public spectacle. No villain in the story. Sometimes the most soap opera thing two people can do is handle the ending with dignity, and McClain and Lindstrom did exactly that.
Cady McClain and Jon Lindstrom gave daytime fans one of the best real life love stories in the genre. Do you have a favorite memory of these two together? Send it to [email protected] and we just might feature it!
They Are Not ATWT Alumni. They Are Current Daytime Stars.
Here is the part that needs to be said loudly for the people in the back. Several outlets covering this settlement have identified McClain and Lindstrom primarily as As the World Turns stars. That is not wrong, but it is wildly incomplete.
Cady McClain is currently on screen as Pamela Curtis on Beyond the Gates, where she has been a part of Fairmont Crest’s growing ensemble since the show launched. Jon Lindstrom is right there with her, playing Joey Armstrong on Beyond the Gates while simultaneously maintaining his legendary run on General Hospital, where he has played Kevin Collins and Kevin’s delightfully unhinged evil twin Ryan for decades. Kevin is currently off canvas in Dublin with Ace, but Lindstrom’s GH legacy is one of the longest and most beloved in Port Charles history.
These two are not retired daytime legends collecting residual checks. They are working actors currently appearing on two of the five daytime soaps airing right now. They deserve to be identified by the work they are doing today, not the work they did twenty years ago.
When Real Life Out Soaps the Soaps
There is something uniquely bittersweet about two soap opera actors ending a real life love story. McClain and Lindstrom spent their careers playing characters who have been married, divorced, betrayed, reunited, and torn apart again more times than anyone can count. They understand better than most people on the planet that love stories do not always end the way you planned them.
They were married for nearly ten years. They worked together. They built a life together. And when it was over, they handled it the way two professionals who respect each other handle it. Quietly, privately, and with the kind of mutual grace that most soap opera characters could never pull off.
Cady McClain and Jon Lindstrom gave daytime fans a real life love story worth rooting for. The fact that it ended does not erase that. We wish them both nothing but good things in whatever comes next.
