A Mama Lands On Smitty’s Doorstep

Jennifer Van Horn has officially entered the chat as Jenny Smith, and the woman understands timing. Smitty, played by Mike Manning, was home writing his memoirs and feeling terrible about what his legal mess might cost his husband when his mother appeared on the doorstep from Ohio.

Dad wanted to come too, but work would not spare him, and Jenny admits the Dupree money and power make him squirm anyway. She reminded her son that she gave up her own job to raise him, promised he will be cleared, and told him how smart he is. Mama came to fix everything with compliments.

When Martin walked in and found Miss Jenny at his husband’s side, a group hug broke out faster than a Dupree can call a lawyer.

Meet The Woman Behind The Mama

Off screen, Jennifer Van Horn is an Augusta native who traded a college diploma for a flight attendant gig with American Airlines, and she still works international flights around her auditions.

Soaps are not new to her, either. She wore a flight attendant uniform on All My Children back in 1990, so at least wardrobe knew her size. Her credits also include a prison counselor on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, which feels like unfortunate research for a woman whose son is staring down a homicide charge.
