The real heartbreak is unfolding in a hospital corridor in Fairmont Crest, where time is running out for someone in critical condition. The storm left a victim fighting for her life, and today that fight reaches the edge while the family braces for an outcome no one will say out loud. Chelsea Hamilton tries to be a steady sounding board for her cousin, who is keeping vigil over a sister she has spent years at war with, because nothing shrinks an old grudge like a heart monitor.
The guilt is getting loud elsewhere, too. Dani Dupree confronts Bill Hamilton over the secret they swore to bury in that elevator, and two people this rattled cannot keep a lie airtight forever.

Staying in the family’s orbit, Chad DiMera and Theo Carver keep digging into the chessboard, convinced the missing piece is a message somebody wanted them to find.
