Xander Took the Bullet Meant for Sarah

As our daily recaps laid out, Friday’s cliffhanger was brutal. Johnny shut off the security cameras, and Sarah and Xander found George O’Halloran‘s missing laptop hidden behind a framed chart in the DiMera lab. They believe it holds the proof that clears Sarah’s name.

George caught them. Sarah told him the police would love a look at that laptop, so he pulled a gun and fired. Xander jumped in front of her and took the bullet, then shot George in the chest. Nobody on screen has said whether either man will make it.

Minutes before the gunfire, Sarah told Xander he matters to her as the father of her child. Now the previews have Sarah scrambling to save the man one of them calls “the man she loves.” Brady was not in that lab, and that is exactly the problem.

This all started with the gun preview we flagged a week ago, when George pulled a gun on Sarah and Xander in the spoilers. Now we know how it ended.

What Is Brady’s Devastating News on Days of Our Lives?

Nobody outside the writers’ room knows yet. Here is how we rank it. Number one: the shooting itself. Brady Black finding out Sarah slipped into the DiMera lab with her ex, and that Xander took a bullet saving her, would gut him. Whether Brady knew she was going, no preview says.

Number two: Sarah’s heart. One preview reads Thursday’s heart-to-heart as the end of Brady and Sarah, and Friday’s reunion with Xander backs that read up. Number three: Kristen DiMera. She makes a confession to Lani Price on Tuesday and ties up loose ends on Friday, and nothing Kristen does stays away from Brady for long.

Number four is the one fans fear most: Rachel Black. She had peritonitis and a second surgery on October 19, and two days later she was doing well. She is on no preview next week, which is why we rank her last among the real options. Dead last: one rumor site wondered whether Sarah could be pregnant by Brady. It is a what if, not a spoiler.

The Sarah, Brady and Xander Timeline

Sarah and Xander’s divorce went through in February. She built a life with Brady, and on October 16 Xander promised Marlena he would love Sarah as a partner, not a lover. One week later he took a bullet for her. Some promises do not survive a gun.

Meanwhile Brady Black spent October at Rachel’s hospital bed. He watched her go under twice, let Kristen say goodbye on October 21 and cried through it. He even told Kristen she should be thanking the doctor who helped Rachel. That doctor was Sarah.

The previews keep Xander very much in the story. Maggie Kiriakis forgives him on Tuesday, and Jada Hunter questions him on Thursday. If I know these writers, the same Thursday Jada wants answers, Brady Black gets his own, and they will not be the ones he wants. The wider spoiler slate has not cracked Monday open yet.
