TL;DR: Days of Our Lives spoilers: George O’Halloran is dead. EJ DiMera found him bleeding in a DiMera hallway, kicked him, left as sirens closed in and went home with George’s blood on his cuff. Shawn Brady told him not to leave town.

The Hallway, the Kick and the Sirens

George O’Halloran is dead, and EJ DiMera was the last man to stand over him. The Monday, October 26 episode paid off the Days of Our Lives spoilers we chased all weekend in the ugliest way possible. A bleeding George staggered out of the DiMera lab and straight into his old boss.

EJ did not call for help. He scolded George for making him get his own hands dirty, heard that the laptop was still sitting in the lab, grabbed him and let him slump against the wall. When the sirens closed in, EJ kicked him and walked away. Recaps read that kick two ways: once to make sure George was already dead, or in pure disgust over the laptop.

Whose Blood Was on EJ’s Cuff

Then the cover-up started. EJ got home, found a splatter of George’s blood on his cufflink and hugged his daughter, Sydney DiMera, as if nothing had happened. That answers the question in our Saturday piece on the bloody cuff: it was George’s. Once the room was clear, EJ stripped off the shirt and tossed it into the fire.

As our daily recaps laid out, the night began with Steve Johnson tased outside George’s house on October 22. On Friday, Sarah Horton and Xander Kiriakis found the laptop in the lab, and George pulled a gun and fired. Xander took the bullet meant for Sarah and shot George in the chest. That is the only gunshot wound George took on screen.

Who Killed George O’Halloran on Days of Our Lives?

The honest answer: the show has not said. Xander’s bullet is the only one that hit George O’Halloran. No coroner, no autopsy and no cause of death has aired, and nobody has said George could have been saved if EJ had picked up a phone. That gap is where this case lives or dies.

Door one is self-defense for Xander. George fired first, at Sarah, and Xander answered with the gun he brought for protection. Nobody has said Xander faces charges, he is still in critical condition after surgery, and Jada Hunter questions him on Thursday.

Door two is depraved indifference for EJ. If an examiner finds George was alive in that hallway, the walk-away and the kick start to look like a crime of their own. If George was already gone, EJ is guilty of leaving a body and feeding his shirt to the fire. Neither is a good look.

Door three is a cover-up with a witness. Sydney stopped Shawn Brady at the door with “Got a warrant?” Then she called her grandmother, Marlena Evans, and admitted she does not believe her father. A daughter who doubts him is far more dangerous than a cop who suspects him.

Shawn Wants EJ in a Room

Shawn asked EJ about Steve’s tasing and George O’Halloran’s death, and why EJ dropped in on George earlier that night. EJ said he went to confront George about some wrongdoing and knew nothing about the lab. Steve believes EJ was the one who tased him. Shawn wanted EJ at the station, could not take him, and told him not to leave town.

EJ has been building George’s fall for months. In June he wanted the tainted batch buried on Smith Island to stay buried. In September he said George would take the fall. Last Thursday he offered George money and a new identity to disappear. Now George cannot talk at all, which is awfully convenient for a man with a fireplace.

Johnny Faces His Father on Wednesday

The pressure keeps coming. On Wednesday, Johnny DiMera faces down his father and his future, and this is the son who switched off the lab cameras for Sarah and Xander. On Thursday, Lani Price celebrates her return to the force, so Salem PD gets one more officer back just as this case lands. No preview says Johnny hands Shawn anything.

My gut tells me the laptop is the real smoking gun. The last thing George O’Halloran did was tell EJ it was still in the lab, and nobody has said who walked out with it. The wider soap rumor mill has guesses, and so do we.

Our take: Xander walks. George fired first, Sarah saw it all, and it is hard to picture Salem blaming the man who took a bullet for her. EJ is a different story. He did not pull a trigger, but he kicked a man on the floor, left him for the cops and threw the evidence on the fire.
