Days of Our Lives Recap: Rachel Black Wakes Up to Kristen DiMera

The Days of Our Lives recap October 19, 2026 gave fans the reunion and then pulled the floor out from under it. Rachel Black woke up in her hospital bed, called for her mother and asked if she was really there. Kristen DiMera, still in disguise, hurried to her side. “Honey, I’m home,” she told her.

Brady Black had just confronted Kristen about the attempt on Johnny’s life he believes she was behind. When Rachel woke, he signaled Sarah Horton not to call security. Rachel asked where she had been. Kristen dodged it.

Then Rachel lost consciousness again, her monitors beeping, while both parents watched, helpless.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Rachel Goes Back Into Surgery

Sarah came back with stomach inflammation and bad news. Rachel needed another surgery. Kristen asked Sarah to keep her presence a secret, and after Brady nodded, Sarah agreed.

In the waiting area, Kristen spotted EJ, pulled on a mask and turned away. EJ asked about Rachel and left, glancing back at the “nurse” on the phone.

The surgery was a success, and with stronger antibiotics, Sarah and Kayla are hopeful.

Is Rachel Black Okay on Days of Our Lives?

Brady Black Tells Kristen What Rachel Really Said

Alone with Kristen, Brady ripped into her over what he called her “monstrous” crime. She would leave, he said, once the surgery was over. Marlena Evans agreed Kristen should keep away from Rachel, and Kristen turned on her in a rage.

Kristen said she was staying because Rachel wants and needs her. Brady said Rachel only wanted her because she was frightened and sick. Then he told her what Rachel had confided. She did not trust her mother, bad things always seemed to follow her, and she felt calmer when Kristen was gone.

Kristen cried. She accused Brady and Marlena of turning Rachel against her. Brady shot back that she keeps upending Rachel’s life and then vanishing. She told him she is not going anywhere.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Johnny DiMera Fires George O’Halloran

George O’Halloran stormed into the office of Johnny DiMera and accused him of destroying their plans. Johnny told him the secrecy and cover-ups were finished and fired him on the spot. He demanded George’s key card. George called himself a loyal, long-time employee.

Steve Johnson came by next and praised Johnny for fixing his mistakes, the lawsuit against Sarah included. Steve believes the evidence is on George’s personal laptop. Johnny figured it was still in the lab, since George did not have it during their fight. He checked. It was gone.

Steve thinks a desperate George will lead them to it, and to the proof they need to take down EJ. He called Kayla to say he would not be home tonight. He is on a stakeout.

Steve Johnson Surprises Cat Greene

Earlier, in the park, Steve told Cat Greene he knows about her ties to the ISA, past and present. Cat apologized again for not going to the ISA when Clyde pressured her into the Abigail scheme. He warned her that EJ is dangerous and offered his help whenever she needs it. Cat insisted she has it under control.

EJ DiMera Sends Cat Greene After Marlena’s Records

Cat brought EJ DiMera news. Dominic Marino backed out of buying the Kiriakis mansion after it failed inspection. EJ thinks Marino is playing games. He wants answers on the birth certificate and whether Dominic is really his brother.

So he asked Cat to use her old access from her days as Marlena’s assistant to search the doctor’s records. Cat hesitated, then agreed. He kissed her and suggested they go upstairs, and she took his hand.

Earlier, EJ had formally handed his hospital credentials to Kayla Johnson, who was glad to see him go. He warned her about ten percent staffing cuts and the likely closure of the Horton Free Clinic. Kayla vowed neither would happen on her watch.

George O’Halloran Runs to EJ

Then George walked in. EJ sent Cat away and tore into him for his carelessness. George admitted his laptop holds records of all their crimes and blamed Johnny. EJ blamed George’s incompetence for the deaths and turmoil that followed. If anyone goes down, EJ told him, it will be George alone.
