JEREMY HORTON IS LEAVING SALEM AND BURNING IT DOWN BEFORE HE GOES

TL;DR: Jeremy Horton just picked up the phone, called his dad Mike, and asked for Joy Wesley’s number about thirty seconds after Stephanie mentioned Alex had a baby scare with Joy a year ago. On Days of Our Lives, that is not innocent. That is a man with an exit date and nothing left to lose. Jeremy is stirring the pot on his way out the door and Salem has no idea what is coming.

Jeremy Horton Made the Call and We Saw It

On Monday’s episode, Jeremy Horton sat with Stephanie Johnson while she talked through her crumbling marriage. And Stephanie mentioned something we all forgot about. A year ago, Alex Kiriakis thought Joy Wesley was pregnant with his baby. Alex panicked. Alex said he was not ready. Alex got a false alarm and moved on with his life. Joy got in the car and left Salem and has not been back since.

You could practically see Jeremy Horton’s brain light up. Because Jeremy knows Joy left town and went straight to her mother Nancy Wesley, who happens to be dating Jeremy’s father Mike Horton. Jeremy has a direct line to the one woman in Salem who could blow Stephanie’s marriage sky high. And at the end of the episode, that is exactly the phone call Jeremy made. “Dad, can you get me a number?” Sure. Whose? We all know whose.

Michael Roark Exits April 29 and Jeremy Has Nothing Left

Michael Roark’s last air date as Jeremy is Wednesday April 29. That is nine days from now. Nine episodes for Jeremy to do absolutely anything he wants, because he is not going to be around to live with the consequences. And the writers just handed him a grenade disguised as a phone number.

This is how you write a soap exit. You do not send Jeremy out quietly. You do not give him a tearful airport goodbye and a montage. You give him one piece of explosive information and one phone call and you let him burn it all down. Because Jeremy has never stopped being in love with Stephanie. Not in 2007. Not when he came back last October. Not through the kidnapping. Not through the trauma bond. Every look Jeremy has thrown Stephanie since he came back has been the look of a man with unfinished business. And now he has a way to finish it.

Joy Wesley Lands Friday and Jeremy Knows Exactly Why

Joy Wesley is set to return to Salem on Friday April 24. She is going to knock on Alex’s door while Stephanie is out running an errand. Alex is going to open that door thinking his wife forgot her keys, and instead he is going to come face to face with the woman he thought he got pregnant a year ago. And given the timeline, there is a real chance she is holding something or someone that proves the false alarm was not actually a false alarm at all.

Here is the part that makes it delicious. Joy is not showing up at Alex’s door by accident. She is showing up because somebody put her in motion. That someone is Jeremy.

Petty, Unhinged, and the Best Exit Strategy Ever

Sorry Jeremy. This is not a noble act. You did not do this because Stephanie deserves the truth. You did not do this because you care about Joy or her baby or Alex’s alleged character growth. You did this because the marriage ship has sailed, your exit is scheduled, and if you cannot have Stephanie, you at least get to watch Alex lose her in the most spectacularly public way possible on your way out of town.

And honestly? We are rooting for it. Alex has been acting like Joy was a closed chapter. Alex has been dismissing Stephanie’s trauma. Alex has been telling everyone else what they should feel while his own skeletons wait patiently in Nancy’s spare bedroom. If anyone deserves a front door surprise on a random Friday afternoon, it is Alex Kiriakis. And if Jeremy Horton is the man who sets the fuse and then boards a flight out of Salem, we say light it up.
