Leo Watched Javi Drive Off to the Airport

On Friday, Salem’s resident chaos agent watched the only man he has wanted in years walk out the door for someone else. Leo Stark lost. Cleanly, completely, and on camera for the whole town to see, on Days of Our Lives. Javi Hernandez is no longer entertaining a Leo redemption arc. Javi is going to the airport because his actual boyfriend, a firefighter Salem has only heard about through Leo’s stalker browser history, is finally landing in town.

This is not a man Leo can outshine. This is a man with a job that involves running into burning buildings and a face Leo has been refreshing on social media for weeks.

Leo has spent months telling himself the Javi situation was salvageable. He told himself Javi was bored. He told himself Javi would get over the firefighter the moment Leo turned on the charm. He told himself a Salem hookup history with Dimitri Von Leuschner on his resume could compete with a man who carries strangers out of burning buildings for a living. Friday was the day every one of those lies stopped working.

Salem spoilers are quietly teasing a hunk arriving in town this week and we are not going to insult our readers by pretending that is a coincidence. Javi’s firefighter is here. He has a face, a job, and a man who actually wants him back. Leo Stark is going to take one look at this guy, watch Javi light up the way Javi has never once lit up for him, and reach for the only weapon he has left.

Leo told Chad DiMera on his way out of Friday’s episode that the pod resurrection story is the one he is breaking. He meant it. Leo has been embarrassed, dismissed, and outclassed in his own love story, and there is only one cure for that kind of public humiliation in Salem. Bring down somebody bigger than you.

The Slip That Could Bury Cat Greene

Here is where it gets interesting. While Leo was bragging to Chad about cracking the pod story wide open, he let something sli. He told Chad that Cat Greene had been down in the DiMera tunnels with Leo Stark. Just dropped it into conversation. Like it was nothing.

Wrong.

Chad does not know Cat is running an ISA operation under his nose. Chad does not know Cat’s “questions” to EJ DiMera are intelligence gathering. As far as Chad is concerned, Cat is a beautiful, sharp woman with a tendency to ask the wrong things at the wrong time, and now she is the woman who was creeping through DiMera tunnels with the trashiest reporter in Salem.

By Wednesday, Cat is the one in Chad’s crosshairs.

Chad signed that no-date clause for a reason. He was supposed to keep his head down and let Cat do whatever Cat does. Instead the man cannot stop watching her.

Leo Burns It All Down and Walks Out Smiling

This is where it goes nuclear. Leo’s pod story is not going to be polite. It is not going to ask anyone for permission. It is going to name names, name corpses, name the doctor, name the lab, and probably name Wilhelm Rolf twice. EJ is going to find his entire resurrection empire on the front page of Salem’s morning paper. Cat is going to find her ISA cover blown by a man she thought was harmless. Chad is going to find his ex-but-not-allowed-to-touch lover gift wrapped in a federal investigation. And Dimitri’s money is going to be sitting at the bottom of the whole pile of evidence.

All because Javi went to the airport.

Leo Stark does not get heartbroken quietly. He gets heartbroken loudly, on a newsstand, with multiple bylines and a glass of champagne in his hand.
