Celeste gave him a child. Marlena did not. And then in the same conversation, Abe pointed out that the codicil filed on Stefano’s will named Marlena Evans as a beneficiary.

That detail does not fit. A man who openly admitted he favored the women who gave him children does not leave a piece of his estate to the woman who refused him for forty years. Unless she did not actually refuse him. Unless somewhere, in one of the dozens of times Stefano had Marlena Evans under his roof, in his lab, and out of her own mind, she gave him exactly what Celeste gave him.

Marlena Evans has spent more time in DiMera custody than any person in Salem history. Stefano kidnapped her on a yacht and dressed her in caftans. He held her on islands. He held her in safe houses. He held her in mansions. He stuffed her into a glass coffin so airtight even the angels could not get in. Wilhelm Rolf had her in his lab more than once, and Rolf is a man who does not need a willing patient to harvest tissue. He resurrects the dead for a living. Cooking up a child from a sleeping woman is a Tuesday afternoon for him.

Stefano did not need Marlena’s consent. He needed her DNA. There was an entire stretch of years where Marlena was either possessed, presumed dead, brainwashed, or simply not in possession of her own daily memory. Any one of those windows was wide enough to slip an embryo into a surrogate, deliver a daughter on a private island, and hand her off to a DiMera loyalist with instructions to raise her in seclusion until the day she would be needed.

The day she would be needed is the day Stefano’s will reading happens. Which is right now.

The Stranger Walks Into the Will Reading

Theo, who has been watching his own mother sleep through a resurrection storyline, watches a stranger walk in and announce she is family.

Stefano’s Last Move Was Set Up Decades Ago

Here is the truly diabolical part. This is Stefano’s last move and he choreographed it from beyond the grave. He set the entire thing up before he died. He filed the codicil specifically to drag Marlena to the reading. He waited decades to do this in front of a room full of witnesses because he wanted her to find out the way Celeste found out Lexie was his. Publicly. Permanently. With no version of the story where Marlena gets to deny him.

The daughter is going to demand her seat at the DiMera table. She is going to claim a stake in the empire. Salem has not had a detonation device this big since the original Phoenix rose.
