And then Abe found Paulina, fell in love, and built a new life. That life is about to collapse because EJ showed Paulina a glowing tube in his secret lab and inside it was Lexie Carver, breathing, with brain activity, looking like she was sleeping.

Here is where the nightmare begins. EJ did not show Paulina his miracle out of the goodness of his heart. Paulina had been investigating his lab, demanding to know why Salem had a citywide blackout. When she saw Lexie and reacted with fury, EJ DiMera threatened to tell Abe and Theo that Paulina wanted to shut down the resurrection. That she stood in the way of Lexie coming home.

What happens when Abe asks how long she’s known? Because he will ask. And Paulina will have to look the most honest man in Salem in the eye and explain that she found out weeks ago and said nothing. That she lied to him this week while his dead wife was breathing in a tube under the hospital.
The legal question is whether Abe’s marriage to Lexie is still technically valid. If she was never truly dead, does that original marriage supersede his marriage to Paulina? EJ is a lawyer. He has almost certainly thought about this. Paulina Price has definitely thought about this, and the answer terrifies her.
This woman came into Salem like a hurricane. She bought buildings. She won elections. She stared down criminals. And now the thing that might destroy her is not a villain but the simple, devastating fact that the love of Abe’s life never really left. She just needed more time to wake up.
