Days Of Our Lives
DAYS SPOILERS: Stephanie Johnson Gets That Gun and the Writers Are Setting Her Up to Shoot Someone We Never Saw Coming!
Stephanie Johnson wants a gun and she is way too traumatized to have one. The writers are building toward a shooting and we have three guesses.

WHAT IF STEPHANIE JOHNSON PULLS THAT TRIGGER ON SOMEONE SHE LOVES?
TL;DR: Stephanie Johnson wants a gun, her father Steve offered to take her to the shooting range, and she is currently so deep in PTSD from her kidnapping that her skin crawls when her own husband touches her on Days of Our Lives. This woman should not be anywhere near a firearm right now, which is exactly why the writers are putting one in her hands. The only question is who catches the bullet.
The Setup Is Right There
Stephanie Johnson told Alex Kiriakis and her father Steve Johnson that she wants a gun. She said it plainly. She wants to feel safe. She has deadbolt locks on every door. She cannot sleep. She flinches when Alex reaches for her. She was kidnapped by Owen Kent, held in a dark room, tied to a chair, and she has not been the same since. And instead of sitting on a couch and processing that trauma at a pace that would not alarm every viewer watching, Stephanie Johnson decided she would rather hold a deadly weapon.
Steve, to his credit, tried to redirect. He offered to take her to the shooting range but gently suggested therapy first. He even got Marlena to make a house call. But Stephanie is still circling back to the gun. She is not ready to process her feelings but she is ready to handle a firearm, and if you have watched Days of Our Lives for more than a week, you know that is not a safety plan. That is a Chekhov’s gun with a Salem zip code.

Picture It. Stephanie. A Gun. A Sound in the Dark.
Picture it. Stephanie is home alone. The deadbolts are locked. The lights are low. She has a gun now because someone, maybe Jeremy Horton, maybe Steve, finally agreed to support her. She is sitting in the living room with every nerve ending on fire the way they have been every night since Owen put his hands on her.
And then she hears something. A door. A footstep. A shadow moving in the hallway.
Stephanie does not ask who is there. She does not call out. She pulls the trigger.
And the person standing in the hallway is not Owen Kent. It is not a stranger. It is someone she knows. Someone she loves.
Who Catches the Bullet?
This is where the theory gets truly diabolical, because there are multiple candidates and each one would detonate a different kind of storyline.
The most obvious answer is Jeremy. Michael Roark is leaving the show soon. Jeremy has been circling Stephanie with the quiet devotion of a man who would walk through fire for her, and the writers have been leaning hard into the dynamic between them. What if Jeremy shows up at her apartment unannounced, the way he always does, and Stephanie, who cannot distinguish between a threat and a friend right now, fires before she sees his face? That exit would be devastating and it would give Abigail Klein the kind of material that gets submitted for Emmy reels.
But here is the truly unhinged option. What if it is Alex? Stephanie Johnson already had a nightmare about Alex being shot. The show aired that scene for a reason. Dreams on Days of Our Lives are not decoration. They are foreshadowing. What if Stephanie’s worst fear becomes real, not because someone else shoots Alex, but because she does? What if the woman who cannot stand to be touched by her husband is the one who puts him in a hospital bed?
And then there is the wildcard nobody is considering. What if it is Steve? What if Patch, the man who offered to take his daughter to the shooting range, is the one who walks through the wrong door at the wrong time? Steve Johnson has survived more than any man in Salem, but surviving a bullet from his own biological daughter would be a different kind of wound entirely.
The Part That Makes This Inevitable
The writers are not putting a gun in Stephanie Johnson’s hands because she is going to store it safely in a lockbox and never think about it again. They are building something. The PTSD, the flinching, the refusal to process trauma, the insistence on a weapon she has no business handling right now. Every single one of those choices is a breadcrumb leading to a moment that is going to make Salem gasp.
Somebody is getting shot. The only question is who goes down and whether Stephanie can live with what happens next.
Who do you think Stephanie Johnson is going to shoot? Is it Jeremy, Alex, or someone nobody sees coming? Sound off below because this theory has us on the edge of our seats and the safety is definitely off!
WATCH THIS: Did Marlena make a mistake?
@soapoperamag Was Kate REALLY the right choice? Marlena has officially extended an olive branch to Kate but I'm not sure its' a good idea to bring her into the Basic Black fold. Is this a good move or is Marlena playing with fire? #DAYS #DOOL #DaysofOurLives ♬ original sound – Soap Opera Magazine
