So when Days of Our Lives spoilers say Rolf makes a discovery on Thursday that will definitely rock him, every viewer should be paying attention. Because if something can shock the mad scientist, whatever he found is catastrophic.

The spoilers for this week are loaded. Monday opens with Paulina Price ripping into EJ DiMera over the Lexie Carver reveal. By Thursday, EJ is telling Paulina exactly what his plan is, confirming he showed her Lexie on Friday not out of kindness but as a calculated power move. What Could Possibly Shock the Man Who Has Seen Everything?

The most obvious theory? Lexie is gone. Dr. Wilhelm Rolf opened the pod earlier this week and told EJ and Gwen von Leuschner that the patient was almost ready to wake up. He let Paulina see her face. He said they could safely let her breathe real air again. But between that moment and Thursday, something has gone wrong. Either Lexie woke up on her own and wandered out of the lab, or someone moved her. Or something far worse.

And there is one person who had both access and motive to do exactly that. Owen Kent has been working as Rolf’s night watchman in the lab. But Owen was never loyal to Rolf’s mission. He was using the job as cover while holding Stephanie Johnson and Jeremy Horton hostage in a storage room down the hall. Owen told the pod that once the patient was revived, he planned to use the empty chamber to smuggle Stephanie out of the clinic.

If Owen moved Lexie out of the pod prematurely to make room for an unconscious Stephanie, and Rolf walks in to find his masterpiece displaced or damaged, that is exactly the kind of discovery that would rock him. Rolf has been working on this resurrection for months, possibly years (if one counts the rats). Lexie is not just a patient. She is his greatest achievement. And if Owen’s obsession with Stephanie compromised the entire project, Rolf would be beyond horrified. He would be murderous.

But There Are Darker Possibilities

However, what if the shocking discovery is not about Lexie? Dr. Wilhelm Rolf injected Peter Blake with a mysterious substance on January 8 that flatlined him. Fans have speculated that Rolf used a compound mimicking death so he could collect the body later. If Rolf discovers Peter’s body has been placed in a second chamber without his knowledge, someone else is running an operation inside his operation. And Rolf does not bring enough to share.

Or consider that EJ showed Paulina the pod on Friday specifically to control the narrative. He is telling Paulina his plan on Thursday and when he does, he reveals he’s essentially playing chess with Abe’s family by dangling Lexie as leverage over the mayor’s office and DiMera Enterprises. If EJ ordered something done to the lab without consulting Rolf, and Rolf discovers his boss has been overriding his protocols, that changes their dynamic entirely. Rolf has always been the loyal servant. But a Rolf who feels disrespected might go rogue.

And then there is Cat Greene. Spoilers confirm Cat confronts EJ on Friday, and we know she needed a special ISA tool to bypass the lab’s security codes. Kayla is reaching out to Cat on Thursday. If Cat has been feeding lab intelligence to the ISA and Rafe Hernandez, and Rolf discovers evidence of a federal breach, his reaction would not be panic.

Dr. Wilhelm Rolf does not get rattled. The fact that he is rattled so deeply means whatever he discovers in that lab is not minor. It is a turning point, and the fallout is going to reshape everything EJ has been building in the shadows.
