Bold and the Beautiful recap October 2: Carter Walton tells Daphne that Steffy is their surrogate, and Katie asks Zende to come to Logan.
CARTER WALTON TELLS DAPHNE THAT STEFFY IS THEIR SURROGATE
TL;DR: Carter Walton told Daphne that the implantation happened and Steffy is their surrogate, before Steffy could say a word. At Logan, Zende finally showed up, Hope apologized, and Katie told him to come to Logan.
Carter Spoke Before Steffy Could
The Bold and the Beautiful recap October 2 ends with the lie Steffy never wanted told. When Daphne Rose Walton walked in and asked if everything was OK, Carter Walton blurted, “Go ahead, Steffy. Tell Daphne. Tell her the good news.” Then, before Steffy Forrester Finnegan could say a word, he told it for her.
“We did it,” Carter told his wife. “The implantation and fertilization.” It had finally happened, he said: “Steffy is our surrogate.” Steffy fought back tears. This is the moment she has dreaded ever since Carter set his tell-her-today deadline, and our B&B spoilers for the next two weeks show the fallout is only getting started.
She never agreed to that script. When they arrived at Forrester, still bickering, Steffy still wanted to tell Daphne the truth about how this baby was conceived. She had been pressing Carter on the benefits of coming clean right up to the moment Daphne walked in.

Steffy Tried to Talk Him Out of It
The day started at the cliff house with Steffy picking his plan apart. If they announce the deed is done, she warned, Daphne will ask how the appointment happened so fast and why nobody called her. Carter Walton just kept repeating that they don’t have time and have to do this now.
After round three of Steffy saying it would never fly, Carter insisted Daphne would buy it. Steffy said Finn won’t. Carter was sure John “Finn” Finnegan will accept it, given how badly he screwed up in Monaco. That is a man betting a marriage that is not his own.
Reading between the lines, those tears were not happy ones. A story Steffy never signed off on just got told in her name, and the one person she was sure would see through it is her own husband.
Ridge and Brooke Were Already Celebrating
Earlier, Ridge Forrester and Brooke Logan spent time with Daphne trashing Katie and Logan. Ridge asked where Carter had gone, and Daphne had no idea. Before they left for a meeting, the two gushed about the baby and agreed the surrogate sounds like a remarkable woman.
That remarkable woman is Ridge’s daughter. Don’t be surprised if he takes it hard when he learns it, and if he wants to know why Carter Walton was in such a rush to make the announcement.
Is Zende Forrester Dominguez Leaving Forrester for Logan?
Katie Logan Spencer just asked him to. At Forrester, Melissa “Miss” Dylan urged Zende Forrester Dominguez to tell Hope and Katie how he truly feels, for himself and not for them. Later, he walked into the Logan office and told Hope Logan Spencer, “You wanted to talk? Here I am.”
“I am so, so sorry,” Hope said. She told him she felt terrible knowing he would find out she left along with everyone else. Zende fumed that this is not something she can apologize for in a text, because his entire career changed without warning because of her. Hope and Katie were always headed for this showdown with Zende.
Katie stepped in to do damage control, in her most soothing voice. His frustration can go away, she told him, and she can offer him the chance to work with Hope again and start fresh. “Come here. Come to Logan.” If I know these writers, Zende does not say yes that easily.
Will Calls Out His Mother
Before Zende arrived, Will Spencer confronted Hope and Katie about using his girlfriend to get to Zende. Katie shrugged that she simply asked Dylan for a favor. Hope said she still had not had the chance to tell Zende why she left. Then Katie called it an opportunity for Dylan to prove her loyalty to the Spencers.
Will thanked Dylan for coming, told her he talked to his mother about her recruiting tactics, and said it wasn’t cool. He also admitted it would be great if Zende came by. Dylan said she spoke to Zende but wasn’t sure it worked. Later, Will told her he doesn’t like that she feels she has to win his mother over, because she’s already in his heart. They kissed.
On Monday, Will confides in his half-brother, Wyatt Spencer. Over at Forrester, Carter Walton just learned that telling a lie is the easy part. Keeping Steffy quiet is the hard part, and our latest spoilers suggest Steffy may be done lying.
