Two spoiler outlets now predict Finn may use the surrogacy deception of his wife, Steffy Forrester Finnegan, as leverage. The demand? Stop opposing a relationship with his birth mother, Sheila Carter.

It is a prediction, not a network spoiler, and nobody has put a date on it. But the argument behind it is airtight. For as long as Sheila has been in the picture, Steffy has held Finn’s mother against him. Now Steffy is the one who did Finn wrong.

Here is the wrong, on the record: Finn told Steffy no to the surrogacy on September 23, and she went ahead anyway while he was at a medical conference and confessed on October 19. The next day Finn told his mother, Li Finnegan, and she was stunned. Then came Thursday’s blood test and two words: “You’re pregnant.”

Five Promises Finn Made to Keep His Mother Away

Now look at what Finn gave up to keep the peace. On July 9, as Sheila signed her divorce papers, Finn warned her that Steffy would never accept her near the kids. On August 3 he asked Li to tell Sheila that Steffy comes first. In Monaco on August 13 he snapped, “You need to just stay away from us, Sheila!”

Steffy’s answer that day? She took off her wedding ring and told him, “Stay with your mother.” Finn kept making promises anyway. He promised Taylor on September 18 that Sheila was out of their lives, and he promised Steffy the same thing on October 19, the very day she told him what she had done.

That is the ledger this prediction runs on. Steffy’s grievance has always been who Finn’s mother is. Finn’s grievance is what Steffy did. He couldn’t help one of those. She chose the other.

Will Finn Let Sheila Back Into His Life on Bold and the Beautiful?

Not yet, and maybe not on purpose. What airs next is the hurt, not the bargain. On Monday, October 26, Finn and Steffy hold a heart-to-heart, an emotional conversation about her agreeing to be a surrogate against his wishes. No trusted preview puts Sheila Carter in that room or anywhere in the week ahead.

This is the part everyone else is skipping. Sheila doesn’t know any of this. She was last seen reconnecting with Deacon in September, and nothing on screen has her learning about the surrogacy, the pregnancy or the heartbeat. Whoever tells her hands Sheila the one thing she has never had in this war: a reason Steffy can’t say no.

And make no mistake, Sheila Carter wants in. Head writer Bradley Bell said this fall that her story is driven by her desire to be accepted by Steffy and to be a grandmother to Hayes. Finn might be the man who finally opens that door.

Li Finnegan Could Be the One Who Tells Sheila

The same chatter has Li confiding in Sheila about Finn’s heartbreak. It is not a crazy idea. Li gave Sheila a chance back in August, then blamed herself when Sheila spotted Finn’s flight details on her laptop and followed him to Monaco.

Li has also been in the room for every blow this week, starting with drawing Steffy’s blood. On Friday she checked for a heartbeat she figured was too early to hear, while Steffy and Carter Walton tried to put her off and Daphne Rose Walton begged, “Please, Finn. Be happy for us.” The heartbeat came through strong. As we laid out when Finn and Li started investigating the pregnancy, those dates do Steffy no favors.

Viewers are ahead of the writers on this one. One reader on our Facebook page hoped that “after Steffy’s arrogance and self-righteous attitude toward Sheila, Finn reconsiders allowing his mom to visit him and Hayes.” Same reader, same comment: “Even Lee has gotten friendly with Sheila!”

The One Card Steffy Never Wanted Played

If I know these writers, Steffy refuses. Sheila is the one line she has never crossed, and the thought of Sheila circling the baby secret was her nightmare a month ago. Don’t be surprised if she offers Finn anything else first.

My gut tells me the bargain lasts exactly as long as the surrogacy story does. Finn knows Steffy went behind his back. He does not know about the night she spent with Carter in August. If that ever comes out, Sheila Carter stops being the price and starts being the weapon.
