HOPE LOGAN REFUSES TO DROP HER DANGEROUS MATCHMAKING MISSION

TL;DR: Hope Logan just won’t give up on the idea of Deacon Sharpe and Taylor Hayes becoming a couple on Bold and the Beautiful. Despite warnings about Sheila Carter’s volatile nature, Hope believes they would handle a romance “delicately.” Steffy Forrester is panicking, but Hope refuses to listen.

Hope Is Playing With Fire and Doesn’t Seem to Care

Hope Logan is on a mission. A stubborn, reckless, potentially catastrophic mission. She wants her father Deacon Sharpe to find happiness with Dr. Taylor Hayes, and nothing anyone says is going to change her mind.

Not even the fact that Deacon is still legally married to Sheila Carter.

On the January 23 episode of Bold and the Beautiful, Hope doubled down on her matchmaking crusade. She just wants Deacon to find some joy in his life. Noble? Sure. But here’s where it gets concerning. Hope genuinely believes that if Deacon and Taylor acted on their feelings, they would “go about it delicately.”

Delicately.

Let that word sink in for a moment. We’re talking about sneaking around behind Sheila Carter’s back. The same Sheila who has shot multiple people. The same Sheila who faked her own death. The same Sheila who terrorized the Forrester family for decades.

And Hope thinks “delicate” is going to cut it?

Steffy Forrester Sees What Hope Refuses to Acknowledge

While Hope Logan is busy playing cupid, Steffy Forrester is sounding every alarm she can find. On the January 20 episode, Steffy demanded that Taylor cut all contact with Deacon. Her reasoning? Simple survival. Steffy warned that pursuing this romance could “unleash Sheila’s dark side.”

And Steffy would know. She’s been shot by Sheila. Her husband Finn was shot by Sheila. Taylor herself was once thought dead because of Sheila. The woman has a body count that rivals most horror movie villains.

But Hope? Hope isn’t worried. She sees a man who deserves happiness and a woman who could give it to him. The Sheila factor seems like a minor inconvenience in her mind.

The clash between these two daughters has become the heart of this storyline. Steffy is fighting for her mother’s life. Hope is fighting for her father’s heart. Only one of them seems to understand what’s actually at stake here.

The Dramatic Irony Is Almost Painful to Watch

Here’s what makes this situation even more gut wrenching. On that same January 23 episode, Sheila actually thanked Taylor for “saving” her marriage to Deacon.

Read that again.

Sheila is grateful to Taylor. She thinks Taylor is helping keep her marriage intact. Meanwhile, Deacon has been fantasizing about kissing Taylor since the January 21 episode. He admitted his true feelings to Hope on January 20. The man Hope wants Taylor to be with is actively dreaming about betraying Sheila with the very woman Sheila is thanking.

When Sheila finds out? And she will find out. This is a soap opera. Secrets never stay buried. The explosion is going to be massive.

Why Fans Are Comparing Taylor to Macy Alexander

Longtime Bold and the Beautiful viewers are getting serious deja vu right now. Many fans are drawing comparisons between Taylor’s current situation and what happened to Macy Alexander.

For those who need a refresher, Macy was Deacon’s wife back in 2003. She suffered a near fatal accident when a chandelier fell on her during a performance. The tragedy happened during one of the most volatile periods of Deacon’s life.

Now Taylor is walking into a similar storm. She’s getting close to Deacon while he’s married to someone dangerous. Hope Logan thinks everything will work out if they’re just careful enough. Fans who remember Macy’s fate aren’t so optimistic.

History has a way of repeating itself on daytime television. And right now, Taylor is standing exactly where Macy once stood.

Hope’s Heart Is in the Right Place, But Her Head Isn’t

Look, nobody is saying Hope is a villain here. She loves her father. She wants him free from Sheila’s chaos. She sees Taylor as a “safe” and respectable choice for Deacon. These are understandable motivations.

But wanting something doesn’t make it safe. Hope’s belief that Deacon and Taylor can handle this situation “delicately” ignores everything we know about Sheila Carter. There is no delicate with Sheila. There is no careful. There is only the calm before the storm, and then the storm itself.

Steffy understands this. Hope refuses to accept it.

The question now becomes whether Hope will wake up before it’s too late, or whether her stubborn optimism will cost Taylor everything.
