BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL SPOILERS: TAYLOR’S DESPERATE PROPOSAL TO RIDGE PROVES SHE’S HIS SECOND CHOICE

Just when you thought Taylor Hayes couldn’t sink any lower… THIS happens!

I’m still cringing from yesterday’s episode, and honestly? I don’t think I’ll ever recover from the secondhand embarrassment. Dr. Taylor Hayes — a PSYCHIATRIST, mind you — just proved she’s completely lost her mind by proposing to Ridge Forrester with a ring she bought HERSELF!

Let that sink in for a moment.

She. Bought. Her. Own. Engagement. Ring.

THE MOST PATHETIC DISPLAY IN B&B HISTORY?

Look, I’ve been watching The Bold and the Beautiful for over two decades, and I’ve seen some desperate moves. Remember when Quinn kidnapped Liam and convinced him they were married? Or when Thomas literally had conversations with a Hope mannequin? But THIS? This takes the cake, the whole bakery, and the delivery truck too!

The scene at Il Giardino on June 24th was painful to watch. There’s Taylor, pulling out a ring SHE purchased (because apparently she knows Ridge won’t), dropping to one knee, and asking “Ridge Forrester, will you marry me?” while the man’s face screamed “I’d rather be anywhere else but here!”

And before you come at me saying I’m being too harsh — the woman is supposed to be treating people’s emotional problems! How can she help others when she can’t even see she’s begging for scraps of affection from a man who’s clearly pining for someone else?

RIDGE’S HESITATION SAID EVERYTHING

Did you catch Ridge’s expression when Taylor popped the question? That wasn’t the face of a man in love. That was the face of someone trying to figure out the least hurtful way to handle an awkward situation. The spoilers say he accepted, but with hesitation — and we ALL know what that hesitation means.

He. Wants. Brooke.

Period. End of story. Roll credits.

But Taylor? She’s so desperate to “win” against Brooke that she’s willing to accept being the consolation prize. The backup plan. The “well, if I can’t have who I really want” option.

It’s giving “pick me” energy in the worst possible way.

NICK MARONE’S RETURN STIRRED THE POT

Here’s what makes this even MORE pathetic (if that’s even possible): Taylor only made this desperate move because Nick Marone rolled back into town and started sniffing around Brooke again. That kiss between Nick and Brooke? You KNOW Taylor heard about it. You KNOW it sent her into panic mode.

So what does our supposedly mentally stable psychiatrist do? She runs to the jewelry store, whips out her credit card, and decides to lock Ridge down before he realizes Brooke might be available again!

This isn’t love. This is INSECURITY on steroids!

FANS ARE NOT HAVING IT

Social media absolutely EXPLODED after this cringefest aired. The reactions have been brutal — and honestly? Completely justified.

X user @rainbowgirl892 summed it up perfectly: “Taylor’s in this ‘does he love me, does he love me not’ situation because of her own damn self. You can’t even feel bad for her because she’s happy to be Ridge’s second choice as long as Brooke doesn’t have him.”

BOOM! Truth bomb delivered!

Another fan, @HollyMila, didn’t mince words either, calling the whole thing “pathetic.” And the hashtags? #DesperateTaylor and #SecondChoiceSyndrome were trending within MINUTES of the episode ending.

Even longtime Taylor supporters are jumping ship. One viewer who’s been #TeamTaylor since the ’90s posted: “I can’t defend this anymore. Buying your own engagement ring because you know the man won’t? That’s when you need therapy, not a wedding!”

THE HISTORY MAKES IT WORSE

Let’s not forget — this isn’t Taylor’s first rodeo with Ridge. These two have been married HOW many times? And every single time, it ends the same way: Ridge goes back to Brooke. It’s like watching the same movie over and over, except each remake gets progressively more embarrassing for Taylor.

Remember in January when Ridge “chose” Taylor after that confrontation where Brooke literally SLAPPED him and called Taylor his second choice? Even THEN, we all knew it was temporary. Ridge doesn’t choose Taylor when he’s happy and content — he chooses her when he’s hurt or angry at Brooke.

Taylor’s not his true love. She’s his rebound. Always has been, always will be.

WHAT THIS SAYS ABOUT TAYLOR AS A “PROFESSIONAL”

Can we talk about how this woman is supposed to be helping people with their emotional problems? She’s a PSYCHIATRIST! She should be able to recognize unhealthy relationship patterns! Instead, she’s out here creating a masterclass in “What Not to Do When You’re Obviously Someone’s Second Choice.”

Imagine being her patient:

  • Patient: “I feel like my partner doesn’t really want me.”
  • Taylor: “Have you tried buying your own engagement ring and proposing to them?”

She shouldn’t be treating a goldfish, let alone human beings!

THE RING PURCHASE THOUGH…

I cannot get over the ring situation. WHO DOES THAT?!

In all my years of watching soaps — through amnesia plots, back-from-the-dead storylines, evil twins, baby swaps, and more paternity mysteries than I can count — I have NEVER seen someone so blatantly announce their desperation.

Buying your own engagement ring is basically screaming: “I know you don’t love me enough to do this properly, but I’m so thirsty for any crumb of affection that I’ll do it myself!”

Girl. GIRL! Where is your dignity? Did you leave it in the same place you left your professional ethics?

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Ridge might have said yes (with all the enthusiasm of someone agreeing to a root canal), but we ALL know this engagement is doomed. D-O-O-M-E-D!

Here’s my prediction: Brooke’s going to hear about this proposal from Nick (who witnessed the whole trainwreck), and she’s going to realize she doesn’t want to lose Ridge to Taylor’s desperation tactics. We’re about to see Brooke Logan in full “take back my man” mode, and honestly? After this pathetic display from Taylor, I’m actually rooting for her!

And let’s be real — the SECOND Brooke shows even a hint of interest in Ridge, he’ll drop Taylor faster than you can say “destiny.”

THE SADDEST PART?

You know what really gets me? Taylor KNOWS she’s the second choice. She KNOWS Ridge is only with her because Brooke’s not available. And she’s OKAY with that! She’s so desperate to “beat” Brooke that she’s willing to humiliate herself on national television.

This isn’t a love story. It’s a cautionary tale about what happens when you let competition cloud your judgment and destroy your self-respect.

Remember when Taylor used to have backbone? When she was a strong, independent woman who didn’t need to chase after a man who clearly wanted someone else? Those days are LONG gone, apparently buried under a mountain of insecurity and desperation.

IN CONCLUSION: A NEW LOW

I’ve seen a lot of cringe-worthy moments on The Bold and the Beautiful. I’ve watched characters fake deaths, steal babies, shoot each other, and engage in more partner-swapping than a square dance convention. But Taylor Hayes buying her own engagement ring to propose to a man who’s obviously settling for her?

This is a new low. Even for soap opera standards.

The worst part? She’s a PSYCHIATRIST! She should be able to recognize these toxic patterns! Instead, she’s out here creating new chapters in the “How to Embarrass Yourself for a Man” handbook.

Will this marriage actually happen? Oh, it might. But we all know it won’t last. Because at the end of the day, Ridge Forrester wants Brooke Logan. He’s ALWAYS wanted Brooke Logan. And no amount of self-purchased engagement rings or desperate proposals is going to change that fundamental truth.

Taylor, sweetie, it’s time to book yourself some therapy sessions. With a DIFFERENT psychiatrist. One who can help you understand why you’re willing to accept being someone’s consolation prize.

Because this? This ain’t it, sis. This ain’t it at ALL.
