Nikki Newman is running Chancellor Industries, yet still doesn’t understand how her husband Victor Newman operates. It’s like it’s her first freaking day.
Of course, Victor is up to something with Audra Charles. However, Nikki’s not trusting Audra Charles is unwarranted. Audra tried to help Nikki at her lowest point during her tenure at Newman Media. Yet, Nikki trusts Kyle Abbott with another one of her granddaughters.

Kyle Abbott or Not, Audra Charles Did Nothing to Nikki
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) not trusting Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) yet trusting Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), could not make any less sense. Miss Audra was a kick-ass COO under CEO Nikki Newman at Newman Media. Nikki Newman has admitted this. Yet, upon stopping by her own home, where her own husband was having a meeting with Miss Audra, she was ready for an impromptu game of 20 Questions then & there. Well, Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) put a stop to that when he arrived with details about the trip across the pond, Victor had him on for all of the divisions of Newman Publishing.
Instead of taking a pause to remember that Audra attempted to be there for her discreetly concerning her alcoholism reboot, Nikki went to the Tack House to talk more crap about Audra to her daughter Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) & her granddaughter Claire Newman (Hayley Erin). Oh sure, Audra isn’t up to any good as far as Kyle Abbott goes, but she never did anything to hurt Nikki Newman.
Claire Walks on Water & Kyle Abbott’s Buddy Pass
Besides Kyle Abbott’s ex-wife/Claire’s cousin Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) & Summer’s mother Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), everyone in Genoa City on Y&R thinks Claire Newman walks on water. There isn’t a Newman other than Summer Newman who can recall that one time Claire almost killed almost all of the Newmans, yet they are ‘Team Claire.’ Ergo, the Newmans, except for Summer & Claire’s grandfather Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), are on ‘Team Claire & Kyle.’
Before saying the ‘L’ word, Kyle asked Claire to move in with him, either into the Abbott Estate or into a space of their own. Out of the gate, Nikki Newman is on board & has provided her endorsement to Claire. If Claire is almost in love with Kyle, she should be with Kyle. Who cares what Kyle’s background is & what he did & didn’t do to Nikki’s granddaughter, Summer Newman? Kyle, apparently, gets a guest pass to walk on water with Claire.
Nikki Newman’s Blame Game, Audra Breaks Claire’s Heart
It’s not right, but it’s okay for Audra to do everything in her power to break up Claire & Kyle. Yes, she does have the exact skillset to accomplish this & “job experience” to break up Genoa City’s favorite new couple & Victor knows it. However, will Kyle Abbott really be blameless in all of this? Not if anyone asks Nikki Newman. She will blame Audra Charles 110%. Claire will be heartbroken, but she is a strong woman & will be just fine, considering what she has been through in her lifetime. Quite likely, Claire will have a better grasp on all of this once it happens than her grandmother, Nikki.
Claire knows that it takes two to tango & no matter if her grandfather Victor Newman had anything to do with what Audra does & doesn’t do to or with Kyle Abbott, Claire will have some blame to toss Kyle’s way & rightfully so.
It’s a long shot, but if Nikki Newman doesn’t wise up, she may find her dynamite assistant, whom everyone loves at Chancellor Industries replacing her as CEO. Claire is young, but it is not her first day at anything. She doesn’t even have to fake it to make it on Young & the Restless
